Avengers: Endgame Fan Theory States Key to Defeating Thanos is Doctor Strange

The Mad Titan looked almost unstoppable in Avengers: Infinity War. No human or God could stand in his way. The heroes crumbled like dust. The Hulk was beaten to a pulp. Thor, even with his newest weapon Jarnbjorn in his hands, could not do anything as Thanos snapped his fingers and wiped out fifty percent of all life in the Universe. So this begs the question – If the Earth’s mightiest heroes, who were at the peak of their power during the events of Infinity War, could not find a way to defeat Thanos then, how are they going to beat the purple megalomaniac in his own game when they face off against him once more in Avengers: Endgame?

A fan theory claims that the only way to defeat Thanos is to come up with a right strategy. But where to come up with such a strategy!! The theory states that the MCU already has shown us one trick in a previous MCU that could be the key point of the strategy and it is none other than Doctor Strange of 2016. Presenting – Avengers Endgame Fan Theory states key to defeating Thanos is in Doctor Strange

What was there in the Doctor Strange movie that caught this fan’s attention, you ask? Two words – Time Loop.

Reddit user u/RahulVijh posted an interesting theory on the site’s popular Marvel fan theories subreddit page. He believes that using the time stone to create an infinitely prolonged time loop is how the Avengers can defeat Thanos. Remember that the Time Stone is one of the most powerful stones in existence. It gives the wielder the ability to control the very fabric of time in the Marvel Universe.

It is how Doctor Strange vanquished the mystical extra-dimensional entity called Dormammu in the 2016 movie. He did so by using the Eye of Agamotto (aka the Time Stone) to strike a bargain with Dormammu in which he will break the Time Loop if he never returns to conquer Earth.

The fan theory runs on similar lines. But it evolves into something even more fascinating as you read further. It claims that the Time Loop is already in place. The events happening n Spider-Man: Homecoming, GOTG Vol. 2 and Ant-Man and the Wasp are all a part of it and will keep repeating until the superheroes find a way to defeat Thanos in Endgame.

Avengers 4: Endgame will show how we all have been fooled!! from FanTheories

There is one particular moment in Avengers: Infinity War that is the foundation of this theory. When Thanos went on a rampage on Titan, defeating the heroes tasked with stopping him on his home planet, Doctor Strange was the last man standing. He tried his best but when Thanos got to Tony, Strange had to relinquish the Time Stone to him. And after Thanos snapped his fingers, Strange stated as he withered to dust that they “are in the Endgame now”.

Avengers: Endgame Thanos Doctor StrangeRemember in an early Infinity War scene where Doctor Strange and Stark go up against Ebony Maw, the sorcerer claims that a Dead Man’s spell is very hard to break. What if the spell is already in place? What if Doctor Strange, before he left for the afterlife, used the Time Stone to create a grand Time Loop encompassing each and every event preceding and succeeding Infinity war?

Avengers: Endgame Thanos Doctor Strange

What if, everything we have been shown by Marvel is just a lie and the Time Loop will reset the horrible events again and the Avengers will start anew? What if the sacrifices of the heroes we so heart-wrenchingly watched at the end of Avengers: Infinity War is all just a sham and they will come alive again due to the Tie Loop’s effects?

Avengers: Endgame Thanos Doctor Strange

The last Avengers movie to be released under the MCU banner was Avengers: Infinity War. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:

Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artefacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
