New ‘Aquaman’ BTS Video Reveals Before And After VFX Secrets
Aquaman movie’s before and after VFX BTS video has been released and it seems like it’s a reply to the people who were in the selection committee of the Academy Awards as we all know that Aquaman did not make it to the shortlisted list of movies with the best VFX, which came as a shock to the entire industry.
Well, the makers of the movie have released a new behind the scenes video in which they’ve shown all the things we saw and what they were in reality. The before and after effects are clearly visible and I’m sure that you’ll praise the VFX team of Aquaman movie even more after seeing the video. The video is linked down below, have a close and deep look at it:

I know you’re thrilled by seeing the video and will not believe the fact that the movie Aquaman wasn’t on the shortlisted list of movies by the Academy as some of the shots in the video, in my opinion, are enough to make a place on that list. The shot of King Atlan right at the starting of the clip, Amber Heard’s hair flowing in the air, and many others which give us the glimpse of the hard work they put in creating grand visuals.
James Wan, the director of the movie was also furious about the same because the biggest thing people are liking in this movie is its visuals and also the work in the department of VFX has been incredible. But the fact that the movie collected huge appreciation for its extraordinary visual effects by a lot of critics and people around the world changed nothing for Academy.
The list of shortlisted movies is down below and a movie like Aquaman can surely beat some of the movies on it. Here’s the list:
ANT-MAN AND THE WASP
AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR
BLACK PANTHER
READY PLAYER ONE
SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY
WELCOME TO MARWEN
FIRST MAN
JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM
MARY POPPINS RETURNS
CHRISTOPHER ROBIN
The director of the movie, James Wan wrote a heartfelt tweet to his team members and also thanked the head of their VFX team, Kelvin Mcllwain for the efforts they put in the movie as for him, they are the unsung heroes and deserve huge credits for it. Wan also picked the omission done by Academy, in context of which he said,
“Kelvin, you and your department are the unsung heroes of this film. The fact that your VFX peers in the Academy aren’t recognizing or appreciating what we/you’ve all contributed to the film and cinema is a f**king disgrace.”
Mcllwain picked a lighter tone on the same and replied,
“I’m with you, James. It was a complete shock to everyone that we are not in the final 10 films that will be presenting at the Academy VFX Bake-off. The selection process is very flawed in my opinion and too open to influence.”
A big role was played by VFX in the movie and it is still going strong all over the world, more so, for its tremendous visuals as we all knew that we are going to witness some really cool and beautiful stuff when the trailer came out and that’s why we simply can’t think of any digestible reason for not including Aquaman in the list.
Well, what is done is done and we have no other choice than showing our frustrations on the internet about it but we hope with the incoming of this BTS video, things get embarrassing for Academy.
