Many people will find it weird but it’s true that Black Panther and Deadpool 2 have beaten Avengers: Infinity War in Google searches of 2018 as it has been revealed that the fans and people around the world have searched Deadpool 2 and Black Panther more than Avengers: Infinity War.
It’s quite weird but understandable as we all know that the fan following of Deadpool has reached an incredible height and has become one of the movies which have built a massive fan-base for it around the world. The popularity of Deadpool at this point is really incredible and we all know that the next Deadpool movie will break a lot of records.
On the other side, the surprise package of the year Black Panther seems to be the movie which has already generated a lot of curiosity in the minds and hearts of people even before its release but the movie went on to be a blockbuster as a result of which we are talking about this movie in this article.
We all know that that the buzz which was created after its release was really huge as everyone was talking about the costume of Black Panther and also all the technological things they’ve shown in the movie. So, it’s quite reasonable to understand that the movie has achieved this feat.
Well, it has been revealed by the list of 2018 trends by Google, in which we see that Black Panther is the most searched film of the year with Incredibles 2 in the second place, Deadpool 2 in third, and having Avengers: Infinity War on fourth place. A Quiet Place is a movie which was in fifth place on the list.
Although, Avengers: Infinity War movie has collected more than $1.3 billion and also the second most ‘Who…?’ search was in their name as it was ‘Who dies in Infinity War?’. So, the movie Infinity War has had its share of prizes in its hands but Black Panther has been quite remarkable and has given a tough fight to Infinity War.
Black Panther isn’t just the most googled movie of the year but also the movie is in sixth place in the list of top 10 United States searches of 2018. The movie has also collected a lot of money and also some big awards as it has been revealed that the film got nominated for two Screen Actors Guild Awards which includes Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
Black Panther has won two big awards at African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) as it has won the award for being the Best Film of 2018 and also it is none other than the director of the movie Ryan Coogler who won the Best Director Award. The movie has also received a Golden Globe Nomination and has also been titled as one of the best movies of 2018 by ‘The American Film Institute’.
Well, if you think the showering of Awards and nominations tops here then here’s something for you as it has been stated that the movie has eight Grammy nominations to its name but has also been nominated for 12 Critics’ Choice Awards. The movie has also been the second highest grossing movie of 2018.
Also, the performance of Chadwick Boseman in the character of T’Challa has been applauded by a lot of critics and has registered his name in the list of names shortlisted for the title of Time’s Person of the Year. But, we have to wait in order to see whether he’ll achieve it or not.
But, the movie has been a tremendous success for Marvel Studios and it’s true that not even the most intelligent and experienced critics could predict the success of Black Panther to this extent. Well, we have to wait in order to see whether Aquaman or Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will be able to touch it or not.
