While the Marvel Cinematic Universe is left gasping for breath as evil gets the better end of it in Infinity War, the heroes are left helpless and useless to fight the incoming battle. The future looks dark for the Marvel Universe and there is literally nothing the heroes can do about it. Thanos has won. He has the six Infinity Stones. He has one of the Galaxy’s largest armies and a cult at his disposal that will follow him to the ends of the universe. He is now the single most powerful being in all of creation.
No God, no hero or no villain is now capable of trumping the Mad Titan. So how will the Avengers deal the final blow? All good stories have a happy ending, right? What happens in Avengers 4? Does Thanos have the last laugh yet again? Turns out, he just might not. It is time for Thanos to cry like a baby. How, you ask?
Well because a major Character in infinity War has survived the infamous Thanos Snap. And this character will be the key to defeating the Mad Titan. Presenting – Major Character you would have never guessed has survived Infinity War!!!
Do you know which character we might be talking about? There are so many that have died that we could not fathom there actually is a character that could be enough for the Avengers to defeat Thanos. Is there one such character really?
When Marvel heavyweights like Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and Spider-Man could not survive the Mad Titan, what good is this character against Thanos? How good is this character and how good will this person be in the ensuing fight? There a lot of questions. But then again, you still could not guess the name of the character now, could you?
We will give you a hint – It is a character that is reacted to Thor in a big way. To be specific, this character has had a major impact on Thor’s Character development arc.
So who is it? Valkyrie comes to mind. The warrior angel of Asgard was the last of her kind when Thor found her under the Grandmaster’s watchful tutelage as a bounty hunter. After that, Thor managed to sway her into his team by making her remember her duties as a Valkyrie.
Valkyrie then joined Thor’s Revengers team that went on a rampage across Sakaar until they reached Asgard, where they created further havoc. Hela, the Goddess of Death, was also overwhelmed by their combined prowess and was soundly defeated. Valkyrie would later join the Asgardian Refugees and she is last seen aboard the colony ship that in intercepted by Thanos at the end of Thor: Ragnarok.
After that, Valkyrie purportedly vanishes. No one has seen her again. Some claim that Valkyrie managed to escape Thanos by boarding the escape vessel and took along with her the largest contingent of Asgardian Refugees. Some claim that Valkyrie died along with the rest of the Asgardians like Loki and Heimdall aboard the ship as Thanos used the Power Stone to rip the vessel to pieces.
But it is not Valkyrie. It is someone else.
Loki is dead. And so is Heimdall. So, both are out of the question. The former died a hero’s death as he defied the Mad Titan as his final stand against evil. Heimdall gave up his life by using the last of his powers to transport the Hulk to Earth so that the latter could forward the message of the incoming threat of the Mad Titan. So the character that has survived has to be someone else that is related to Thor in a big way and has been currently out of action until now.
This leaves us with two characters basically – One is Erik Selvig, the scientist extraordinaire that was used by Loki to rip Earth a new one in The Avengers of 2012. Erik could be instrumental in stopping Thanos since he has a lot of knowledge about cosmic science and his expertise of the space-time continuum could be a big help for the Avengers in Avengers 4 as they decide to travel back in time. Selvig could be pivotal in providing much-needed advice on how to harness the Quantum Realm to gain access to time travel technology.
But sadly, he is not the one we are talking about. It is the second character that is the concerned person in this article. That character is none other than Jane Foster, the long-time love interest of Thor and one of Earth’s foremost scientists on particle research and cosmic ray studies. Her knowledge of science is paramount for the Avengers.
Surely they have people like Banner, Stark, and Shuri to aid them in the technological fact but they are still rookies when it comes to understanding the inner workings of dimensional physics, something Jane Foster has spent her whole lifetime in. She is going to be the key to helping the Avengers win the decisive final battle in Avengers 4.
Though it is not just her expertise that will matter in the long run! Jane Foster has a connection with Thanos and that connection is called the Aether aka the Reality Stone. Many of us know that the Reality Stone came into the MCU way back in Thor: The Dark World of 2013.
Back then, this gooey weirdly flowing liquid was said to possess the power to change the very fabric of reality. But no one ever knew that is the Reality Stone up until Infinity War. Since Jane was physically, mentally and spiritually connected to the Reality Stone, she would still possess some form of pull with the Gauntlet, which contains the Aether within it as of now.
The Avengers could explore this connection, take advantage of it, and make the Infinity Gauntlet go un-whole again. That way, Thanos is still extremely powerful but he is no more a God. The Reality Stone is the most dangerous Infinity Stone within all the six Infinity Stones. If the Avengers get hold of this, then Thanos loses at least 30 percent of his powers. That is more than enough to give the Avengers a fighting chance. They have faced worse odds than this.
Up Until now, Directors if Infinity War Anthony and Joe Russo were staying mum when asked about the characters that actually survived the ordeal. The Directors did not answer but the Marvel Content creating team already has. T Snider currently developed the story and artwork for Infinity War: The Cosmic Conquest Volume Two. And Jane foster could be seen within those issues. Since the Cosmic Conquest is canon to the MCU, expect Jane Foster to drop into future Marvel movies at any moment now.
Jane Foster, in this comic book arc, joins hands with Darcy and Erik Selvig to solve the mystery of why the planet has just witnessed the disappearance of half of its global population. They now call their team the “Science Avengers”. Considering the fact that Thor has lost all his people to the Mad Titan, the Science Avengers might be the sort of reprieve the Strongest Avenger of the MCU requires at the moment.
Let us just hope it is still not too late for Jane Foster’s help. Things are about to get real complicated.
