Avengers: Endgame will be the final movie for Tony Stark aka Iron Man. For 11 Years, he has been the center of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, leading things from the front. He has had his moments, good and bad, weak and strong, but the only thing he hasn’t been able to do yet is take down Thanos. That has been the problem of all the MCU Superheroes, but Tony had the biggest brawl against the Mad Titan. Thanos and Tony had a connection which hasn’t been revealed yet. But with what Thanos did at the end of Infinity War, things became personal!
The Decimation killed half the population of the entire universe, and the last legit hero we saw getting dusted was Peter Parker aka Spider-Man. at the end, he was the father figure to Peter, and then Thanos robbed his son from him. So, Redditor Asongofparksandrec has come up with a theory stating that what if Avengers: Endgame was a story mostly told to us from Tony’s perspective? The trailer started with him, so what if that was a hint?
The Redditor tells us that Avengers: Endgame will be The Mechanic’s last Tale. He wrote:
“Endgame will be about how Tony gets the infinity stones.
Infinity war was Thanos’ movie. The trailer of infinity war was from Thanos perspective. The movie itself was from his perspective. The Endgame trailer is from Tony’s perspective. So I figure the movie will be from his perspective.
Over all of the marvel movies, in one way or the other Tony’s character was build up. With each movie he matured. Until his maturity reached, it peaked with passing on what he achieved to Peter Parker whom he felt responsible for. Tony was basically a father figure to Peter. Yet Tony failed when Peter died. Same like Thanos felt he failed, when his home planet collapsed.
I believe that Endgame will in some way mirror infinity war.
That the only way to defeat Thanos will be to retrieve the infinity stones and with the snap of a finger bring everyone back from the dead. Only this time it will be Tony who snaps his finger. How would a mortal be able to do this? With the power of him, who is cursed with knowledge. The knowledge of a mechanic.
Tony, maybe with the help of the dwarf who made Thor’s axe, will build a device that allows him to wield the infinity stones.
Someone on this sub has pointed out that there are six infinity stones and the original six avengers survived. They all will play a part in it and help to get the stones. But I believe it will be Tony who will bring the stones powers together and use them.
It was always Tony who should have held the Avengers together, but he never truly achieved this. Only when he convinced them to get shawarma, but almost sacrificing himself.
I think this movie will be about Tony finally complete his maturity. He will reverse his mistakes by bringing the dead to life again and might possibly sacrifice himself for real this time or even emerge to a higher level of existence. Or maybe sacrificing yourself is emerging into a higher form of existence.”
Now, this is a good theory, but it may be too far of a stretch assuming that the entire movie may be told from his perspective. It could be done just the way Infinity War was done, giving us more of Thanos as compared to all others, but don’t assume Tony to be narrating a story to us from the start.
Captain America and Thor are almost equally important for the story and Avengers: Endgame will probably be the final movie for them as well. So, telling the story from only Tony’s perspective will be kinda wrong. It is an Avengers movie after all, and not an Iron Man movie.
