Entertainment Weekly Reveals The First Official Photo of Game of Thrones Season 8

While we have been patiently waiting for anything official related to Game of Thrones Season 8, HBO hasn’t really given us anything upon the much-anticipated show. Things here are just like Marvel’s Avengers 4 as the hype that surrounds these projects is insane and so far we haven’t got anything from anyone, until now! HBO has begun the race of reveals as Entertainment Weekly has given us the first official photo of the show as its Cover. Have a look:

Game of Thrones Season 8

It is good that Auntie Dany and Nephew Jon are being revealed as the couple we wanted so bad to pork in the previous season but what’s interesting here is that Game of Thrones is also playing the whole “End Game” arc here similar to the Avengers.

Game of Thrones Season 8

It has been a really long time since anything about Game of Thrones was officially revealed, and now we have got something for which I’m glad to say that it is a good first photo. It is not something like Terminator 6 where you ask for the Terminator and what you get is 2 new characters and an old Sarah Connor.

Game of Thrones Season 8

So far what we know is that the last season will only have 6 episodes, but almost every episode could be as long as a feature-length film. At least 2-3 episodes will be as long as 1:30-2 hours, so good for us. The show is maintaining the quantity along with the quality even when they are giving us only 6 episodes.

Well, the first image is not the only thing that EW has given us as it has reported some exclusive interviews from Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons) and Kit Harrington (Jon Snow). The final season has finished its production and it is safe to say that it was a very emotional ride for everyone involved.

All three of these actors have detailed that the scripts of the final season were pretty emotional for them and a couple of instances in the script actually made Harrington shed tears like a baby.

What’s interesting is that Harrington didn’t even read the full script of this season, unlike others who read it as soon as it was sent to them. He mentioned that he wanted to go as blind as possible saying:

Game of Thrones Season 8

“I walked in saying, ‘Don’t tell me, I don’t want to know.’ What’s the point of reading it to myself in my own head when I can listen to people do it and find out with my friends? Every season, you read at the end of the last script ‘End of Season 1,’ or ‘End of Season 2.’ This read ‘End of Game of Thrones.’”

Game of Thrones Season 8 This is the moment no one is really ready for! Even the likes of Sophie Turner were pretty emotional after the read as she said:

“It was completely overwhelming. Afterwards I felt numb, and I had to take a walk for hours.”

Emilia Clark mentioned that she had to cancel her plans with her best friend as she received the scripts when she was with her.

Game of Thrones Season 8

“I turned to my best mate and was like, ‘Oh my God! I gotta go! I gotta go!’ And I completely flipped out… Genuinely the effect it had on me was profound. That sounds insanely pretentious, but I’m an actor, so I’m allowed one pretentious adjective per season. [Camera] checks take longer, costumes are a bit better, hair and makeup a bit sharper — every choice, every conversation, every attitude has this air of ‘This is it.’ Everything feels more intense. I had a scene with someone and I turned to him and said, ‘Oh my God, I’m not going to do this ever again,’ and that brings tears to my eyes.”

Game of Thrones Season 8

This is literally going to be us when the show arrives. Just imagine if this is the reaction of the actors who are supposed to portray their characters then how brutally sorrowful and heartbreaking the season is going to be for us. We have invested years into the show, and soon it is going to be over. Another similarity between Avengers 4 and Game of Thrones Season 8!

Game of Thrones Season 8

The show will probably return with Season 8 in June-ish 2019.
