Game of Thrones Reunion Special Details Have Been Revealed

Game of Thrones is the greatest fantasy adventure show ever made by mankind. In fact, some say the world is divided into two parts – those who watch GOT and those who don’t. It has become a cultural phenomenon and millions of fans are biting their nails and having restless nights waiting for the last season of this HBO series.

While the world is patiently waiting for Game of Thrones Season 8, it is also sad that the show will end after that. But right after the show ends, we will be getting a Game of Thrones reunion special event!

Game of Thrones Reunion

2020 will be the year that begins the prequel series of the show, but it has been reported by Entertainment Weekly that the original show’s cast will reunite and even the actors whose characters are dead on the show will be a part of the reunion. The cast of Friends had a reunion last year, but this will be another major reunion that people will be looking forward to.

According to EW, HBO was not ready to confirm about this reunion when reports hit the net about it earlier, but now they have confirmed that an event was indeed shot in Belfast. What’s great about this is that Ned Stark actor Sean Bean was a part of this reunion. Moreover, Jason Momoa was also in Belfast earlier this year, but he may already be a part of the reunion as he’s been known to visit the set simply as a fan and friend of the show.

As for other actors who would be a part of the special, we know for a fact that the lead cast of Season 8 will be there. But apart from that, we could imagine that actors who played characters that died previously on the show should also be present.

Although a fun fact about this is that the special will not air on the HBO network, and it will rather be available a new Game of Thrones complete series home video box set which will include all 8 seasons of the show along with the special.

Game of Thrones Reunion

The box set will obviously be available after the show ends its run on HBO, sometime in 2019. As for the latest updates of the show, some cast members have offered us a few little details of their wrap up. Here’s what Maise Williams (Arya Stark) had to say about that to The Guardian:

Game of Thrones Reunion

“I ended on the perfect scene. I was alone –- shocker! Arya’s always bloody alone. But I was alone and I had watched a lot of other people wrap. I knew the drill, I had seen the tears and heard the speeches.”

Game of Thrones Reunion

Sophie Turner has told us in the past that the ending of the show is not what you might expect. It could leave you sorrowful and with conflicting feelings. Talking to IGN, here’s what she said:

“Who knows if it will be satisfying for the fans. I think a lot of fans will be disappointed and a lot of fans will be over the moon, I think. I think it will be really interesting to see people’s reactions, but for me reading the script it was just like heartbreaking to read at the very final page of the script it just says, ‘End of Game of Thrones’. That was really emotional.”

Game of Thrones Reunion

HBO obviously maintains a lot of secrecy when it comes to their prime show and so, the cast of the show had to take certain measures for when they received the script of the final season. Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) for instance revealed that she had to cancel her plans with her best friend as she received the scripts when she was with her.

Game of Thrones Reunion

“I turned to my best mate and was like, ‘Oh my God! I gotta go! I gotta go!’ And I completely flipped out… Genuinely the effect it had on me was profound. That sounds insanely pretentious, but I’m an actor, so I’m allowed one pretentious adjective per season. [Camera] checks take longer, costumes are a bit better, hair and makeup a bit sharper — every choice, every conversation, every attitude has this air of ‘This is it.’ Everything feels more intense. I had a scene with someone and I turned to him and said, ‘Oh my God, I’m not going to do this ever again,’ and that brings tears to my eyes.”

Game of Thrones Reunion

So as we could suspect, the final season of the show will totally have us all shocked and surprised! What’s good is that we are going to get a special reunion event after the show ends. Game of Thrones Season 8 will air in April 2019.
