‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ Opening Night Box Office Collection Beats Original

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald has been released and the wait is finally over. There were many people in the industry who predicted this movie to be better than the original one and we have to say that they predicted it right as we this movie has beaten the first-night collection of the original movie by a slightly big margin if not too big.

The movie isn’t getting too many strong reviews from the critics and a lot of critics are saying that the movie has a lot of fantastic creatures and also the work on the characters has been spot on but it’s the plot of the movie which didn’t excite the viewers a lot and because of which the reviews aren’t very much in favor of this film but on the other side the movie has surpassed the amount of first night collection of original movie as it has been $9.1 million in comparison to the first movie’s amount that was $8.7 million.

We all know that J.K. Rowling is the one who has written the screenplay of the film and in which we see that the movie opens in the year 1927, it was Newt Scamander who helped in capturing and unveiling the Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald but later in the movie we saw that Grindelwald escapes and have more followers behind him in his dark mission. Now, the twist here is that it is his dearest friend Albus Dumbledore who is going to play a major role in defeating him and his ideas. So, the movie is getting a lot of reviews and are mixed in nature.

We have also seen reports on the internet about the prediction which Variety has made about the collection of the movie in its first weekend as it has been reported by the analysts at Variety that the movie ‘The Crimes of Grindelwald’ is going to have a $250 million collection worldwide and is higher than the opening of original movie, which was $220 million. The prediction is quite bold and with all the mixed reviews and negativity about the plot of the movie, there are signs that the prediction is going to fall this time.

There has been a lot of interesting things in this movie with lots of controversial things also around it, the movie has finally released and now it’s going to be in the hands of fans whether this movie is going to be hit or an average movie at the box-office.

Also, it’s going to be really important for the movie in order to beat the success rate and amount of the original movie because the expectations and also the budget of the movie is also quite high in comparison to the first one.

As the budget of the first movie was is-between $175 – $200 million whereas the budget of the movie ‘The Crimes of Grindelwald’ is exactly and slightly more than $200 million. So, they have done more in everything in comparison to the previous film and no wonder they are eyeing for a long run with this series and in order to think about what they should first lead this film to the top podium and better than the previous one, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

There has been a lot of controversies around this movie but the chaos between Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard is the one which captured all the headlines. When the chaos started making a lot of problem for Johnny Depp and also for the image of the film it was none other than J.K. Rowling who stepped in and stated a statement in the support of Depp as she stated that,

“Based on our understanding of the circumstances, the filmmakers and I are not only comfortable sticking with our original casting but genuinely happy to have Johnny playing a major character in the movies.”
