Reddit has actually become a major source of various theories for Avengers 4. Whilst Marvel is busy with the post-production for the film not giving us anything at all, these theories are a fuel for our hype and these are what’s allowing for the excitement to continue.
Doctor Strange left us with so many alternate possibilities as the future outcomes may be post-Infinity War, and all these theories that are coming in could work as an alternate future for Avengers 4. Now, a new Avengers 4 theory could form one of those alternate futures, as it will probably not happen for real in the film.
Nebula is the character that should have the biggest share in revenge against Thanos. The Avengers would have Thanos on their revenge meter just because of what he did in Infinity War, but he has been torturing Nebula ever since he adopted her. He broke her apart, and replaced her body parts time and time again! So the pain that Nebula has endured throughout her life should make her the biggest candidate for being the Thanos Killer.
Keeping all this is in mind, a Redditor named failedlogic has come up with a theory that gives us a straight up strategy to kill Thanos, and then it makes Avengers 4 about dealing with the after-effects of the snap. This theory will obviously not come true in Avengers 4, but it is really something great to think about. Have a go:
“After the snappening wasted so many of the people on Titan, Stark and Nebula are the only ones left there. Tony will want to return to earth and ask Nebula to him there. Nebula will demand that Stark help her find and kill Thanos. they will reach an agreement, for passage to Earth, Tony will give her his bleeding edge armor and help integrate into her system. They will part ways after an unknown amount of time traveling through space.
Nebula will eventually find Thanos and her character arc will essentially be completed here: Thanos is depressed and lost after getting no satisfaction from his mass genocide. Thanos and Nebula will have some dialogue and fight and Nebula will kill him. No ambiguity, he dies.”
Just imagine if Marvel actually kills their big bad just like that, and present another villain in the film. Even though we know that this won’t happen, it would actually make a lot of sense for Nebula to be the one that drives the killing blow. But she’d most likely end up dying or sacrificing herself in the upcoming event. The theory goes on:
“Stark will return to earth and find that it has in a short time fundamentally changed. Earth won’t be in anarchy, but it will have completely turned against the ‘super powered’ and also against the likes of Stark Industries and SHIELD.
A technological power vacuum will be in effect and Stark might find that he literally has nothing except for a possibly pregnant wife in hiding (just from the public eye) and a few remaining fews scattered across the globe.
Wakanda will be the hottest topic in the world, with most advanced nations demanding their help, support, and tech. Shuri will likely be queen of Wakanda and struggle with the right choices to make. i’d also say that Captain America will make a full transition into becoming Nomad and work as a spy for Wakanda..”
Now, this actually started great, but it seems unfinished. With a proper ending and an addition of a new villain to this particular theory, it could actually become a great alternate Universe storyline where the Earthlings hate the Avengers and then the heroes finally prove their worth by preventing another major catastrophe with a new villain inbound. So, a good attempt!
