Venom Post Credits Scenes: How Many Scenes Are There?

Less than a week away from its theatrical release, Sony will successfully launch Venom and begin Sone’s Universe of Marvel Characters. We have seen 4 Marvel movies this year, and this will be the fifth out of the 6 Marvel movies coming out this year. There were supposed to be 8 but both New Mutants and X-Men: Dark Phoenix were pushed to the second half of 2019. Like every other Marvel movie, we are also going to see Venom Post Credits scenes but the question that arises is, how many would be there?

The usual number of Post Credits scenes these days end up to be 2 where 1 ends up being the mid-credits scene, and the final one appears after the credits. But sometimes we end up getting just 1 which either appears between the credits (Age of Ultron) or towards the very end (Infinity War). Movies like Deadpool 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 have surprised us by giving 5-6 scenes which roll in between the credits and go on till the very end.

Venom Post Credits Scenes For Venom, it has now been confirmed, courtesy of Comicbook.com that the film will be getting the usual set of 2 Post Credits scenes. So, audiences who do care are advised not to leave their seats before the very last name rolls on the screen. We know that Venom will be inspired from the classic 90’s Marvel comics based on Lethal Protector storyline that sees Eddie Brock becoming a hero in San Francisco. Here’s what happened in the comics:

“Before the story begins, Venom makes an agreement with Spider-Man that they will leave each other alone, on the condition that Venom commits no crimes. Venom then moves from New York City to San Francisco and takes up with a group of Californian mole people. Shortly thereafter the father of one of Venom’s victims seeks him out with a group of super-powered mercenaries to take revenge. Spider-Man, seeing misleading coverage of Venom on television, heads to San Francisco to confront him and instead winds up fighting alongside Venom against five new offspring of the Venom Symbiote: Scream, Rage, Riot, Lasher, and Agony.”

The trailers have teased multiple Symbiotes, but we know for sure that Riz Ahmed’s Carlton Drake will bond with the Riot Symbiote and take on Venom for the final battle. Other than that, Scream has been teased, but there’s no surety that we will see the Symbiote in live action just yet. As a matter of fact, this will be one of the 3 Venom solo movies planned, so perhaps we will see the other Symbiotes in the next one, and the third one could bring in Carnage!

This is what the post credits scenes could build up to. One could set the sequel showing the other Symbiotes and the final one could be a teaser for Carnage. Venom has great Box Office anticipations as the opening weekend at the Domestic Box Office is expected to get in somewhere between $55 million and $85 million. This could easily lead the film to a $600 Million plus Box Office run. The film could make even more if it is as good as it looks to be.

Here’s what Director Ruben Fleischer told Comicbook.com about the upcoming Symbiote adventure:

“I think there’s a pretty obvious one inherent to the Venom franchise that for whatever reason couldn’t be included in the film. But I will say that I look forward to future movies where said character could perhaps run across Venom. Nothing would be more exciting to see than a face-off with Spider-Man.”

The film has officially been rated PG-13 and here’s what the Director had to say about that:

“We only ever talked about this movie as being PG13. What I’ve said in the past is that we wanted to push the violence to the hilt. The Dark Knight was always a huge reference point for me, personally, just as far as how far you could take a PG-13 because that movie they put a pen through a guy’s forehead so I figure if you can do that in a PG-13 movie you can bite some heads off.”

Venom hits the theatres on October 5, 2018.
