Avengers: Infinity War came in, satisfied our hype and created a hunger for more. It was the beginning of the culmination if MCU as we know it because from Avengers 4 and forward, the MCU will turn to a new leaf changing things drastically like we’ve not even imagined! This was Marvel‘s biggest production till date and it obviously brought in more results by earning over $2 Billion worldwide!
The movie had a lot for us to take in, but it still could not put in everything. There were so many characters, but still, some big ones did not make it. One of those was Hawkeye who was there right from the first Avengers movie but was not a part of this mega-crossover. He was not included in any marketing material, so people thought that he might be a big surprise, but as it turned out, he wasn’t supposed to be a part of the movie right from the beginning.
Looking at the situation the Avengers are in currently, he will surely return and repeat his Dialogue from Civil War – “I retire for five minutes and it all goes to shit!”. No, Clint, everything turned to dust as you might have noticed! Well, if he would have been a part of the movie then there was no way that Thanos would have won. Thor may have missed his mark but Hawkeye could never do that. Wel,l he did in Civil War, but in his defense, “He made Stark look”.
Here, have a look at an Alternate ending posted by a fan on Reddit which shows how Hawkeye saved the day by actually going for the head! Thor’s reaction looks sick though:
This could have worked and I bet that Hawkeye will pack a Thanos killing arrow in Avengers 4. The Russos said it right from the beginning that they had plans for Hawkeye, but his story arc came in later. But they did not exactly mention how late it will come in. Dumb fans like us went into the movie that Hawkeye may show up in the third act but all Infinity War starred was Hawkeye’s first name! Here’s what Joe Russo had to say about Clint before Infinity War came out:
“All will be explained when people see the movie. It’s all tied into the story. I don’t know about the need to accept it, but I will say this: we love being told good stories, and we love telling good stories, and all of our energy, and our effort, and our thought, and our passion goes into telling the best story that we can. And for us, the best stories have stakes. Characters have to make sacrifices. To really, really feel the true emotion and the hero’s journey they have to go through trials and those trails could cost them something.
So, for us, it’s very important that the heroes feel pain and that they make sacrifices because I think that, not only is a great storytelling, but it also is inspiring and I think we need a lot of inspiration in this world right now. So, for us, I don’t know if we can ever get you to accept it, but I promise you this: we’ll do our damnedest to tell you the best story possible, and what you do with it from there is up to you.”
Well, they did not lie to us about Hawkeye’s presence as no one confirmed his appearance in the movie,but neither of the creatives denied either! This no denial kept our hopes high till the very end. Now they should really do this beloved character justice before they kill him off in Avengers 4.
Oh Renner, we all hope that Hawkeye don’t die in Avengers 4, but he won’t survive either! Avengers 4 will come out on May 3, 2019, and here’s the official synopsis:
“A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”
