Disney Releases First Trailer for Highly Anticipated ‘Star Wars: Resistance’

Disney Studios have teamed up with Lucas Film, the ones with the right to all Star Wars related franchise and merchandise, to make the most out of the Galaxy far, far away. Disney bought Lucas Film quite a few years ago and soon helped launch The Last Jedi trilogy under their banner. With both Stars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi being massively decisive hits for the franchise, the moment is ripe for Disney to cash in on their biggest cash cows. Star Wars is coming to town again in a rather animated avatar. And we can thank Disney Channel to grace us on this occasion. Presenting – Disney releases the first trailer for highly anticipated ‘Star Wars Resistance’.

Disney Channel, under the guidance and necessary direction from Lucas Film, has released the first trailer for the much-awaited Star Wars – Resistance animated series. The show will reportedly feature several of the old faces that have made a name for themselves in the franchise as well as some new characters that are sure to leave their mark in these territories. The release date for the animated series is set for the month of October.

Here is the trailer for the series:

The TV Series is inspired from the Japanese anime like features and has a quality that pertains to and resonates along the same lines. The series also takes heavy inspirations from the acclaimed Star Wars: Rebels TV Series that has currently aired its final episode a long time ago.

Star Wars: Resistance was announced only this year on the month of April by the top Disney Executives themselves. The show will star a young and rather unknown name in the Star Wars franchise, called Kazuda Xion. Kazuda will find himself infiltrating the First Order forces as a young Pilot to spy on the enemy forces for the Resistance. The premise of the movie is set before the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Gwendoline Christie reprises her role as Captain Phasma in the anime series in a voiceover role. Oscar Isaac returns to voice the character of Poe Dameron. The fan favorite and everyone’s beloved droid BB-8 is also set to return to the series as itself.

The official synopsis for the new animated TV Series for Star Wars reads:

In the one-hour premiere, titled “The Recruit,” Poe Dameron and BB-8 assign newly appointed spy Kaz to the Colossus, a massive aircraft re-fueling platform on an Outer Rim water planet, home to colorful new aliens, droids and creatures. While undercover, Kaz works as a mechanic and lives with Poe’s old friend Yeager, a veteran pilot who operates a starship repair shop run by his crew: Tam, Neeku and their old battered astromech droid, Bucket. Kaz soon finds himself in over his head with his new friend BB-8 as he’ll have to compete in dangerous sky races, keep his mission a secret from his newfound family, and avoid the danger of the First Order.

Star War – Resistance is all set to air its first episode on October 7 at 10 p.m. on the Disney Channel. It will also feature a lot of other prominent characters like Kylo Ren, Leia Organa, R2-D2, C3PO and even reportedly Luke Skywalker and Supreme Leader Snoke himself. Watch it.
