Avengers: Infinity War was a massively stuffed movie as it had so many characters come in at once, as not just the heroes, but there were big comic book villains which were also a part of the film. While the movie largely focussed on Thanos, the Black order also got moments to shine throughout the runtime, but there were still many characters who did not make it to this movie.
There were so many aspects and characters that came into play for this project, and almost 70 characters came in, bringing their own story arcs into the film. 18 stories came together converging into the first part of this epic finale that Marvel has been building up for years now. Since the story is so massive, that it was impossible to fit everyone in both the stories without having major consequences, so the Russos had to divide parts and story arcs for everyone.
The biggest example of this division was seen with Hawkeye and Ant-Man as the two heroes were really demanded in this movie and all we got to know was their current whereabouts and nothing more than that. The Russos had already mentioned that Hawkeye has not been forgotten and his story is a long play and not a short one. Since the ending of the movie was so intense as more than half the members of the team died, so it allows the directors to give major story arcs to characters like Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Valkyrie and Captain Marvel in the next part of this mega-finale.
While these characters would show up in the next movie, there were some other creatures who were almost brought into the mix. The Avengers fought the Black Order, Outriders and Thanos, but they should be thankful that they did not have to worry about fire-breathing Dragons because they would have been screwed.
Or as we should say, Thor should be more thankful as it was one of the plot lines being considered for Thor’s journey in the movie. Thor might have survived multiple dragons at once, but Rocket and Groot might not have. with the BluRay release of Avengers: Infinity War, we have now got to know many more details about Infinity War, and among those details is this new information about Dragons in Infinity War.
Well, the story of the movie ran similar to Game of Thrones, so why not have the something else which is a big part of the show, the Dragons! We have already seen a Fire Dragon in the MCU as it showed up in Thor Ragnarok chained in the domain of Surtur, the ruler of Muspelheim. The Dragon was a part of a very cool opening scene in Ragnarok, but in Infinity War, this would have happened in place of a scene on Nidavellir.
As we saw in the movie, Thor went to Nidavellir and met Eitri the Dwarf, but in the earlier storyline, Thor would have met and caught a dragon instead, in order to use it to forge the Stormbreaker. As much as we liked the Nidavellir bit and Peter Dinklage’s cameo, Dragons would also have been really epic to see. Just imagine Thor bringing a dragon to Wakanda after that. His entry was already one of the greatest moments in the movie, a Dragon would have really enhanced that. But it is good that we got the epic cameo of Dinklage as Eitri, so we should not have anything to complain about. Also, we have already seen a fire dragon once, so it does not really make much of a difference.
Avengers: Infinity War is now out on BluRay and here’s the official Synopsis of the movie:
“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain”.
