The Walking Dead Characters Confirm [SPOILER] Caused The Zombie Apocalypse

During the San Diego Comic-Con International, several fans asked multiple times one question that was repeatedly avoided by the Hall H panel of Fear The Walking Dead show. While they managed to get away with silence, the question still persevered to the next Walking Dead panel happening an hour ago during the same event. The question was – What exactly led to the infamous Zombie Outbreak that destroyed the world and turned it into a ruin? After being asked so many times, the Walk Dead panel finally explain how it all went about. Presenting –  The Walking Dead Characters confirm [SPOILER] caused the Zombie Apocalypse!!!

The Walking Dead is known for many things. The blood and gore and the Zombies are just the tip of that iceberg. The primary attraction of the show is that it pulls the viewers into a world where absolutely nothing is certain and almost everything is mysterious and unknown. You will never know what is going to happen next in the series. That is the beauty of The Walking Dead. During the first three seasons of the show, that element was the core of the TV Show franchise and it almost always garnered rave reviews for its terrific tone and portrayal of its characters. When Rick and co finally reach the CDC centre and realize that the only guy who can help them is himself a useless moron, they realize just how much screwed they are at the moment.

No one knows, not even the guy who was tasked by the US Government to find out, what caused the outbreak. But after eight grueling seasons of hunting and being hunted, we finally know why Rick and his team find themselves in a world riddled with flesh-eating corpses. The Walking Dead is based on an acclaimed comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman. In the comics, there is a clear reason of the outbreak taking over the world but the creator says that he won’t share the secret with us as it is not entertaining enough to hear. That is what he said on the 2015 premiere of Fear The Walking Dead to Business Insider. He states:

I still maintain that’s not an important aspect of the story. I think watching Fear the Walking Dead, you’ll get a bigger picture of the world, but as far as digging down to actually find the smoking gun and realizing what that causes, it’s really just unimportant to the overall story. If we were to do a companion to The Walking Dead and it was about a bunch of scientists that were working to find the cure and finding out the origins, that would bore me to tears.

There have been tons of theories about the reason behind the outbreak. Some claim it was a government experiment on population control gone wrong while some say it was a terrorist attack. Some even claim that the viral outbreak has extra-terrestrial origins. While theroies came and went as they pleased, one of the most persisting ones was that the TWD universe was realted to breaking Bad in some way.

When Gale Anne Hurd was asked the umpteenth time about the origin of the outbreak, she finally confirmed a long standing fan theory. She says “It’s the meth from Breaking Bad.”. Robert Kirkman also seconded her statement by saying it was “legit.” WTF!!!!!

So does it mean that Walter White was the reason the entire world went to shit?? Looks like it. The show has had several references to Breaking bad. Merle, in Season 1, had a stash of Blue Meth that looks just like White’s trademark narcotic product. In Season 1 itself, Glenn drives a Dodge Viper that looks eerily similar to the one that Walter tried gifting to his son. A zombie that looked like his face had been blown up by a bomb was a nod to how Gus Fring died and has now come back to life in The TWD universe.

So, is it the truth or just another misdirection attempt by the show’s shot callers to get the fans off teir backs? The audience soon erupted into laughter when Gale Anne Hurd said her statement but somehow, we are still not convinced that she was joking.
