Thanos has currently established himself as the big bad of the MCU. He is probably the biggest villain of the entire Superhero genre on the big screen. But after we are done with him, who could be the next big villain to take on the heroes of the MCU? Well, with the upcoming Disney-Fox merger, we could surely get Onslaught as a villain that poses the biggest threat to the heroes and the entire Universe. There could also be an opportunity for Thanos to actually take him on the big screen as well. While that may take a lot of time to be set up, let’s find out ourselves that how exactly would this fight go if it were to take place.
Onslaught
This big villain easily carries the potential to be the next big bad of the MCU after Thanos is done. He is a massively powerful and armored psionic entity that is a mixture of Charles Xavier’s brain and Magneto’s dark soul. His motivations are a mixture of the ideals of these two as well because Onslaught wants Mutants to be accepted throughout the world and is fuelled by the lust for vengeance against humanity. Even the Hulk and the Juggernaut were not able to take him out.
Not just Charles and Magneto, Onslaught also possesses the combined abilities of Franklin Richards, and Nate Grey being capable of telepathy, telekinesis, energy projection, sensing mutant presences, manipulating magnetic fields, and affecting reality itself at his prime. He possesses superhuman strength, can enhance that strength along with an enhancement in his physical size. His strength and abilities have been recorded to be well over the Omega Level, so a battle against Onslaught could be lethal for any being from any comic book Universe. He could surely take on and even beat Thanos.
Thanos
Thanos is notably the biggest villain the Avengers have ever had to face. He is the ultimate big bad of the entire Marvel universe and is famous for conquering entire universes in the multiverse. He just becomes unbeatable with the number of powers he has which are the Superhuman strength, durability, endurance, and intelligence, Energy manipulation, Telepathy, Telekinesis, teleportation, and Longevity. Along with this, Thanos gets hold of the Infinity Gauntlet which contains the 6 infinity stones that could wipe out the entire universe with just one blow.
He is known as the Mad Titan by the galactic community and the Dark Lord by his most loyal underlings. He is a very powerful cosmic warlord that rules over a very distant region in outer space. Along with all the powers mentioned above, he commands two massive armies known as the Chitauri and the Outriders. Along with his armies, his loyal generals who are also his children in the MCU are a part of his very evil Black Order. The members of The Black Order include Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw, Cull Obsidian and Corvus Glaive. He is also the father of Nebula and Gamora, and with the use of the Infinity Stones, he can control all of these individuals together and with the powers of this unified team combined, he could take out and be in the entire multiverse.
Thanos Vs Onslaught
The Battle between these two big villains is going to be nothing short of a catastrophe. It could be set up in the MCU in a way, where Thanos after being defeated by the Avengers could be locked up somewhere in space, but with the threat of Onslaught now looming upon the Universe, the Avengers could decide to unleash the Mad Titan, who does want the survival of the Universe.
They possess immense powers and would go toe to toe against each other. Onslaught’s power is huge and can actually match that of the Infinity Gauntlet. Moreover, he could prevent Thanos from actually using the power of the Infinity Stones altogether. The power of all the Infinity Stones together would surely take Onslaught down, but he has telepathic powers which are strong enough to control anyone, including the likes of Thanos.
If Mantis was able to hold on to Thanos for as long as she did, Onslaught would do it easily. He would not just stop Thanos with that, but he would also control him and actually turn him against the heroes. So Onslaught is the true big bad and not even Thanos could stand against him!
