Dr. Doom vs Thanos: Here’s Why The Mad Titan Will Be The Ultimate Winner!

Dr. Doom vs Thanos: Battle of the Big Bads!

Villains. The entities and the creatures that go bump in the night. Every man’s worst nightmare, that is what these creatures are. Nightmares, the face of our existence, the consequence of our civilization, the consecutive horrific and violent calling that our source of existence is so flawed that it attracts radical extremism born out of pure genius that now controls the entirety of the universe. Sounds overblown and bloated, doesn’t it. But when we talk about beings of supreme powers such as Thanos and Victor Von Doom we are yet to understand their true magnificence, they are crazy in their approach and lethal when they attack.

Dr. Doom vs Thanos

It is often that Marvel fanboys find their universe at the mercy of our combatants, both of these are considered tyrant in their own right. They both possess genius level intellect and often use that to strategize effective and often elaborate plans that brings the entire multiverse to knees. We have seen both of them control the fabric of space-time, we have witnessed Thanos’ snap and we have seen Doom suck the power out of a Beyonder.

We have seen Dr. Strange trying to battle Thanos and we have witnessed Black Panther armed with the Infinity Gauntlet is wiped out by Doom. They are terrifying creatures who have ruled supreme beyond imagination and the only reason the Marvel multiverse continues to exist is because of the basic plot armor that holds the world of comics together. If not for the trope of “good guys win in the end” Thanos or Doom would have conquered the 9 realms before Thor could say Asgard.

But what happens when these Titans clash against one another. Who takes the prize, read more to find out…

Thanos

The tyrant of the dark quadrant and the creature wildly renowned throughout the universe as the Mad Titan is, in fact, a hybrid born of the Eternals. The Eternals were a race created by the primary creatures of the Marvel comic-verse known only as the celestials. These celestials include beings we are already familiar with including the grandmaster and the collector. You see, the Celestials were the creators of all life in the Marvel comic verse, or so the writers have led us to believe.

Although these beings of supreme power populated the universe with complex life, along the way they also realized that they had somewhat disturbed the balance of the universe in doing so. Hence, to correct their mistakes the celestials took to experimentation on the life they had so created, to judge it worthy enough to let it perpetuate itself or not. Hence, the segregation of the humans into three categories by the celestials.

The first were the beings who were a distorted image of the human life, a subterranean species that would become the source of rumors of trolls and monsters in the modern era. The second was the normal humans themselves that populated the planet earth. And lastly, the second variation of the human species were near perfect genetic beings known only as the Eternals. The Eternals were blessed with perfect genetic structure giving them perfect physical and mental attributes and longevity.

These Eternals did not wish to occupy the same planet as with this of their primitive “ancestors” so they decided to leave the planet earth and occupied a moon of Saturn now named Titan. It was here that a child was born to the Eternals, a child with purple skin who would take up the name of the Greek God of death Thanatos. This child grew up to be Thanos. His strength unrivaled and his intellect to match even the greatest of tacticians.

Thanos assumed command of not only Titan but the entirely of the dark quadrant, ruling with an iron fist. This Titan was not all brawn, he had love in him too. But this is Thanos we are talking about, so the object of his love can’t be as simple as a female.

No sir, the entity Thanos fell in love with was Lady Death herself, or rather the personification of death. Lady death convinced her estranged and powerful lover that the universe was out of balance and the balance of life needed to be restored to the universe, the only way to do so was by wiping out half the life in all of existence and only this act would win Thanos Death’s favor.

This is what instigated the Mad titan’s hunt for the infinity stones and his pursuit of absolute strength and tyranny.

Dr. Doom

Anyone who’s read a fantastic four comic knows that Victor Von Doom is not a man to be trifled with, he rules the marvel verse with a hellish mentality and hides in the shadows till the opportune moment. The man has a shining intellect along with cosmic level powers. Of course, he will always remain secondary to the real power cosmic but his energy blasts can cause a level of damage that will have a cosmic being shaking in his boots.

The armor, or rather the battlesuit of Dr. Doom makes him look so menacing and shields him from so much that he almost seems too evil and too absolute to be true. But one trope that Doom writers have always stuck to is the fact that no matter how much power he Garners he has never been able to cure his own condition.

When I say condition I mean his appearance and the distortion of such appearance on account of his mutation by being exposed to a cosmic storm. The radiation that the Fantastic Four were exposed to was the same that mutated and shaped Doom’s current state. It is tragic but it is true that no matter how hard Doom tries to gather power he will never be able to alter the thing that bothers him the most. He will never be able to correct a wrong he has suffered to his own self and hence he ends up being frustrated and angry and bitter most of the time. It is highly likely that Doom’s intellect is on par with strategists like Batman or even moon knight but is all this enough to go again, Thanos?

Death Battle: Dr. Doom vs Thanos

Before we start this battle let’s constitute the rules of engagement. Given that both of these characters have a very messed up moral compass it will be rather a student to assume that both of them will not only be comfortable with killing their opponent but they will also enjoy it to a certain extent. They are beasts who have the intelligence and power to wipe out all of life in existence and they have a moral compass that will urge them to smile as they watch the life drain out of creation.

There’s almost this cruel synergy that exists in a fight between such villainous monsters. They care about nothing and no one, but both have them have the tendency to get back up and stab you in the back when you’re not looking, so the real question will be who dies first?

Onward To Battle

No matter however much I build up Doom or how much prep time the guy has one thing must be acknowledged above all else. You cannot underestimate the power of Thanos. The Mad Titan is blessed with a genius mind, he is an evil tyrant with an army at his command and technology at his fingertips that makes the Avengers’ headquarters look like children’s playground. The mad Titan wins here for the simple reason that his might is too much for even Victor von Doom to handle.

In an off the cuff battle there’s too much for Doom to do. He would end up only defending against Thanos’ attacks as the tyrant of the dark quadrant chips away at his prey and goes for the kill as he wishes. Even with prep time Thanos’ intellect and intelligence would be hard to challenge, it would not be surprising if Thanos comes out on top just because he thought of a contingency that Doom missed.

Hence, no matter what the battlefield, Dr. Doom vs Thanos?

THANOS WINS.
