The First Look at Godzilla: King of The Monsters and Major New Details Revealed

The 2014 Godzilla movie was the first of the Monster movies to return and it starred Aaron Taylor Johnson, Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Olsen. We saw Godzilla take on two monsters who wanted to mate. Well, the fight of these monsters did cause a lot of collateral damage, but Godzilla actually ended up saving the planet as if the other two monsters would have been successful, then this planet would have had to face an army of monsters. So the collateral damage is totally acceptable against those odds. Now we will be getting a second Godzilla movie called Godzilla: King Of The Monsters.

Godzilla used to be a Dinosaur known as Godzillasaurus, that somehow survived the age of extinction of Dinosaurs and later he dwelt on Lagos Island. He has survived on this planet for so long that you can say that he is immortal. Earth is a planet full of monsters and Godzilla has beaten them all, and became the fiercest King of Monsters. He was almost 164 ft in his younger days, and he kept on growing and in the latest movie where Godzilla appeared, he was recorded to be around 492 feet tall, which is almost as tall as a small building.

Godzilla possesses insane abilities as he has got immense strength and could take down an entire building with 2-3 blows merely. His trademark attack is the very famous “Atomic Ray”, which he breathes out of his mouth, and could burn down anything standing in front of him. Along with the Atomic Ray, one of his unpopular abilities is to project a field of nuclear energy from his body, which is known as a nuclear pulse, and spreads through miles if he uses it. His body generates and absorbs radiations which increases his overall energy and makes him extremely powerful. He can survive underwater and is a very swift mover underwater.

Now, the second movie in the new shared Monster-verse will come out next year. So far we did not know much about the film but now, Entertainment Weekly has given us the first look at Godzilla and two of the characters from the movie. Here, have a look:

Also, Millie Bobby Brown and Vera Farmiga are going to have significant roles in the movie, and we also have a look at their characters, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly:

New details about the movie also tell us that the film is set to take place five years after the first film. The movie will be directed by Michael Dougherty who revealed a lot of new insight upon the film regarding how the world has reacted to Godzilla and Rodan. He said:

“The world is reacting to Godzilla in the same way we would react to any other terrifying incident, in that we are overreacting.but there’s paranoia and endless speculation about whether he is the only one out there or whether we’re threatened by others like his kind. Rodan’s been kind of a sidekick character, but I’ve always had a soft spot for him. In a lot of ways he’s more powerful than Godzilla. He’s like this winged A-bomb. I think we’ve done him justice.”

“Not without giving away too much, but it (the monster’s atomic breath) takes place at a very key moment and it’s a sort of call to arms.”

Godzilla: King of the Monsters

This movie will set up the eventual sequel, Godzilla vs. Kong which will come out the following year. King of Monsters will bring in more gigantic creatures for Godzilla to fight and it will establish Godzilla as this unbeatable creature who will take on King Kong in the very next movie. Kong introduced the giant ape who was very young back then, but since Godzilla vs. Kong will take place in the present day, it will bring a mighty grown beast who will probably kick Godzilla’s ass!

Godzilla: King of Monsters will come out on May 31, 2019 and the movie stars – Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, Kyle Chandler, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds, Anthony Ramos, Zhang Ziyi, Anthony Ramos, Ken Watanabe, Charles Dance, Elizabeth Ludlow,  Randy Havens, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds, Thomas Middleditch, Bradley Whitford, and Sally Hawkins.
