Captain Marvel, the movie that is next in line in the release hierarchy of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is about to get a whole lot more awesome. Marvel Movies are known for their hidden Easter eggs and comic book references. And they all lie in the same universe. Captain Marvel will include several alien races, a young Nick Fury, a younger version of Agent Phil Coulson and a lot more than we could ever hope to see when the movie releases next year. But wait we have more news, Captain Marvel will also introduce one unlikely little ally that Carol Danvers has had by her side since forever. Presenting Captain Marvel’s Pet Cat in the comics is about to appear in the movie!!!
What if we say that Captain Marvel has a pet cat that is as equally heroic and brave as Captain Marvel herself? Sounds ridiculous ain’t it? Trust me it isn’t.
Captain Marvel’s pet cat’s name is Chewie. And she is no ordinary cat folks. Trust me when we say this but Chewie can literally chew the hell out of most of Marvel’s Superheroes. The comic books give us some necessary insight.
Named after the Star Wars character of the same name, Chewie is short for Chewbacca, the trusted mate of Han Solo, the hero of the Rebellion in the Star Wars Universe. Chewie, in the Marvel Comics Universe, is a pet belonging to an alien species called the Flerken. Chewie was introduced to Captain Marvel via Rocket Raccoon, who explained her origins to the superhero from earth. Chewie has powers that are common to the Flerken. She can survive in space, teleport to anywhere within the known universe and unleash massive, lethal tendrils that could grab hold of anyone and anything and her mouth is capable of storing an entire universe within itself.
Told ya!! This cat is no ordinary cat!!! You might wanna watch out. This gets even more interesting.
The movies have certainly influenced the comics a lot. Captain Marvel had a different look in the comics before the movies showed her look to have been changed a bit. The comics followed the movie route and changed her look in compliance with the MCU. The new costume is already supposed to be canon. Filming for the movie has been done with the cast and crew now moving to Louisiana for the final touch-ups. With Ant-Man and the Wasp hitting theatres, the stage is set for another Marvel future Box Office Annihilator. Will the Cat make a difference to the Box Office Collections? We certainly hope so!!
Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, had this to say about Captain Marvel:
“I think there’s still a few months on it,” Feige said of seeing Captain Marvel footage. “You already know as much as you need to. We’ve got Skrulls, we’ve got the Kree, it takes place in the ‘90s, you have Sam Jackson with two eyes and Carol Danvers, a unique telling of Carol Danvers’ origin story.”
Captain Marvel was first mentioned in the MCU in Avengers: Infinity War. It was released on April 27, 2018. The Official Film synopsis for the movie reads:

The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
The latest movie to be released under the Marvel Cinematic Universe banner is Ant-Man and the Wasp. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:
