Ant-Man and the Wasp – Here’s How Hank Pym Kept His Tech Hidden From Tony Stark

The third MCU movie this year, Ant-man and the Wasp is coming out in just 2 days, and we can’t seem to get our heads around the fact that this is the third time the Marvel festival is coming for us. The first two movies have been top notch and they have brought in over $3.3 Billion Worldwide, while Ant-Man and the Wasp will surely push this total to $4 Billion for the year. The smallest heroes of MCU have already got a big critical acclaim, and now the movie is ready to set new records for the Ant-Man franchise.

The sequel to Ant-man is going to be much bigger as the plot gets more complex, while the scale of the movie has also become greater, and the cast members have also increased significantly. Apart from the major two actors Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly, the entire cast of the movie is filled with amazing actors. We have Michael Douglas and Michael Pena who are reprising their roles as Hank Pym and Luis respectively. Other than them, Michelle Pfeiffer has joined in as Janet Van Dyne, Laurence Fishburne will play Bill Foster, Hannah John Kamen is the big villain Ghost, and Walton Goggins is going to be Sonny Burch.

Hank Pym was the one who came up the Pym Particles and the amazing tech behind all that. He as we know is amongst the individuals of the MCU who have a genius level intellect. Doctor Stephen Strange, Shuri, T’Challa, Bruce Banner and Tony Stark are considered amongst these individuals while Rocket Raccoon is also a techno freak, so the list of people with a high intellect is pretty long in the MCU.

Bruce Banner and Stephen Strange specialize in different fields while Tony Stark and T’Challa along with Shuri all specialize in the knowledge that helps there suits and gadgets at most. Their suits are unique in themselves, but they are also similar in some ways. The most unique suit with the most unique powers has actually been made by Hank Pym. Since he came up with the Pym Particles and had major trust issues about it falling into the wrong hands, he kept his tech hidden from everyone. For a long while, he worked with his prodigy Darren Cross, but thinking that it was a big mistake, Pym also cast out Cross from all that.

That is what motivated Cross to become the Yellow Jacket, but since all the research done by Cross has now been wiped out of existence, Hank Pym is the only one left with the shrinking tech. He managed to keep that out of the wrong hands for so long, but after the Sokovia Accords came into play and Ant-Man was exposed during the airport battle, Hank Pym & all of the previous scientists who worked with SHIELD previously had to go in hiding.

What happened in Civil War had majorly impacted the Ant-Man franchise as it will pick Ant-Man directly after Civil War. Since Hank Pym is really protective and does not want it to fall in the hands of the likes of Tony Stark, he has been on the run ever since. Producer Stephen Broussard recently revealed how Pym hid his tech from Tony. Here’s what he said:

“Post-Sokovia Accords, someone knocked on [Hank and Hope’s] door and was like. ‘You gotta sign this contract. You gotta be under the Accords because you’re currently in violation of this thing we put in place in Captain America: Civil War. And Hank, being Hank, he never wanted Stark to have his technology and said, ‘Thanks, but no thanks,’ and sort of had to go underground a little bit.”

The producer also revealed where Hank Pym works after this. We have actually seen that work place in the trailers. Here’s what he said:

“He built this kind of mobile operation. You walk in and it’s huge. It’s this giant set, but when it’s time to go the whole building can be mobile and move around. It’s got a little handle and squeaky wheels and it’s just fun.”

So here, Broussard is definitely talking about Pym’s research lab which becomes involved in a major chase sequence after Pym turns it into his luggage. Ant-Man and the Wasp comes out on July 6.
