Does Avengers 4 Have A Big Time Jump After Infinity War? Here’s The Proof!

Avengers: Infinity War is the biggest movie of this year and Avengers 4 is in line to even beat Infinity War. Infinity War stunned the audiences and satisfied their hunger in the best way possible, giving them something they were desperately waiting for. It has created history at the Box Office by crossing the $2 Billion mark. Avengers 4 may or may not beat this number but it surely has even more fans hyped about the movie than Avengers: Infinity War had.

Avengers: Infinity War the most anticipated superhero movie all time. The sheer scale on which the movie was written and produced and filmed is astonishing. It has been called the most ambitious crossover project in all of movie history.

The movie features almost 40 superheroes sharing the screen at the same time, it juggled a lot of things, one of which was giving ample screen time to each and every character and still trying to keep the plot relevant, interesting and engaging at the same time. The entire premise of the movie was to present a scenario where everything goes to shit. The movie aimed at presenting the audience with a possibility of having the good guys lose for once.

The idea being that it is not always our protagonists that come out on top. Sometimes they can be faced with such adversaries that are impossible to defeat, after all, everyone has a limit, even the Avengers and their allies (namely the Sorcerer Supreme and the Guardians of the Galaxy).

Infinity War was a complete package as it had emotion, drama, suspense, thrill, humor, sci-fi moments and hardcore action. The movie ended in the most thrilling way possible and you would never have seen it coming and seeing the end we all had our jaws dropped on the floor.

Thanos made his presence felt in the biggest way possible. He proved that he is the real big bad by actually beating the Avengers, and taking out half the population of the entire Universe with the snap of his fingers.

Avengers: Infinity War brutally reminded us of the fact that the Earth’s mightiest heroes are fallible, after the consecutive “victories” that were Age of Ultron and Marvel’s The Avengers. Infinity war was supposed to be the rude awakening that solidified Thanos as an indomitable and intimidating villain who no longer wished to play nice or wait.

The actions of the Mad Titan during the events of infinity war were fast and precise, each of his words, each of his subsequent movements (both in combat and out of it) held a deep meaning and were meant to establish the tyrant as an infallible force to be reckoned with. After the grand victories that the Avengers had there was meant to be a strong fall that broke the hearts of the fandom.

This is exactly what Infinity War delivered, a strong call to action for the earth’s mightiest heroes to re-convene and re-assemble a force, one to match the might of the tyrant of the dark quadrant.

People expected Infinity War to have a tough battle against the Mad Titan, but actually seeing the Avengers die at the end is what the audiences were sad about. The question that arises in the minds of everyone now is that from here on, where will the Avengers go and how will they undo what Thanos has done. Many actors whose characters died in Infinity War have that they have an appearance in Avengers 4.

Dave Bautista has confirmed this, and Sebastian Stan has even talked about a scene from Avengers 4 that will involve all the Superheroes. Here’s what he said:

“There was one scene, I think, we had where everybody was there. I can’t really talk about that scene, but I knew it took them three months in planning this scene to have everyone there. You look around and you just saw everyone from Samuel L. Jackson to Michael Douglas to Michelle Pfeiffer. Everybody was there.”

So, there is a big chance of seeing all the disintegrated characters return in the second half of the movie. Also, the directors of the movie and Gwyneth Paltrow may have hinted at a massive spoiler for Avengers 4. The Russos responded to Huffington Post talking about the timelines of the MCU movies. Here’s what Anthony Russo said:

“Here’s the thing, I think it’s important to remember anything is possible in the MCU [Marvel Cinematic Universe]. Just because there’s a sequel on the books doesn’t mean … people become accustomed to time moving linearly in the MCU. That doesn’t necessarily have to be the case. There’s a lot of very inventive ways of where the story can go from here.”

Infinity War was set 2 years apart from Civil War. This very statement from Anthony Russo may hint at a probable time jump in Avengers 4 as well. Many set photos and the news surrounding Avengers 4 may prove that Avengers 4 may pick up from a timeline where the effects of Infinity War have taken place on Earth, and some time has also passed after that.

It could be a hint towards the plot of the film. If. The directors’ words are to be taken literally we can easily deduce that Avengers 4 might have a dystopian feel to it. It is quite possible that we see a desolate future of the Marvel cinematic universe where the Avengers have lost all hope against the mad Titan and now we are headed towards a grim future, a reality where we are now living in fear of a world-ending Good without limit and without remorse.

Looking at this particular set photo, we can see that Tony has a very different hairstyle and is wearing the outfit of SHIELD. Ruffalo is also dressed in mo-cap which means Hulk is going to be involved. Steve Rogers is wearing his old Captain America suit and Ant-Man is in his new suit. So a jump in time is probably over here stating that Tony Stark is probably retired as Iron Man once again and is now the leader of SHIELD. Steve is back to being Captain America and the Hulk is out again.

There have been reports that an older Cassie Lang has been cast for Avengers 4, so this itself hints at a time jump. Also, what Gwyneth Paltrow said in an interview proves exactly that. Here’s what she said:

“Pepper and Tony have had a real long journey together. She obviously starts as his dutiful assistant, and then the relationship evolves, and now this decade later they’re married, and they have a child. Their relationship has evolved in all of the ways that great romances evolve.”

With this being said, there could be two situations. Either there is a time jump and Tony & Pepper have had a kid in that time, or this kid which Paltrow has revealed comes towards the end of the movie when Robert Downey Jr.’s character is given a farewell.

Whatever the case may be, there is a lot of evidence that proves that a time jump may be how things begin in Avengers 4. Even the new concept art that has leaked also suggests that some time has passed after Infinity War.

Avengers 4 will come out on May 3.

The cast is impeccable as some of the biggest names are part of the project including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Winter soldier), Chris Pratt (Starlord), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Dave Bautista (Drax), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Samuel Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Mariah Hill), Jeremy Reiner (Hawkeye), Benedict Wong (Wong), Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange), Tom Holland (Spiderman), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlett Witch), Paul Bettany (Vision), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Vin Diesel (Groot), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Josh Brolin (Thanos).
