Avengers 4 Villains Have Finally Been Revealed And It’s Not Just Thanos

Avengers: Infinity War was the biggest and probably the best MCU movie ever. This was not your typical Marvel movie which is just a light-hearted fun adventure, but it was way more than that, having real stakes and consequences. The movie was a complete package as it had emotion, drama, suspense, thrill, humor, sci-fi moments and hardcore action.

It has shattered box office records and has become the fastest title ever to reach over 1.9 Billion dollars in box office collections. It had a darker tone which is rarely seen in MCU movies. The movie ended in the most thrilling way possible and you would never have seen it coming. It was a GOT level Cliffhanger that had our jaws dropped on the floor.

Thanos wasn’t a deranged Mad Titan, instead, he was an evil genius who wanted to bring the balance to the universe as the resources are finite, so in his mind, the only way to pull everyone out of the cycle of poverty is the extermination of half of them. He finally accomplished the purpose of his life as he disintegrated half the population of the entire Universe with a snap of his finger after collecting all the Infinity Stones.

After that, in the post-credits scene, we saw the effects of that Finger Snap around the world as Nick Fury appeared along with Maria Hill in New York and they saw people getting wiped out turning into ash.

As the scene progressed we saw that Maria Hill also started turning into ash, and then Fury ran to send in a distress signal through a beeper that may be his panic button of sorts, and as he is about to do that, we see that he is also turning into ash.

As that happens, Fury goes down halfway into completing the distress signal, and Samuel L. Jackson’s trademark word, “motherf….” The beeper falls down on the ground, and the camera moves closer to it, finally displaying the signal of Captain Marvel.

But the biggest question left in everyone’s minds from here on was that why did Fury contact Captain Marvel just now? Why not earlier when the Earth was under attack by Loki and Ultron? Well, this will be answered in Captain Marvel and we know it is not going to be left as a stupid Plot hole.

But right now, ‘Marvel Cosmic’ has come up with an explanation to this and it is just a rumor, but it does make a lot of sense. So the rumor basically goes like this:

As we know that Captain Marvel is going to be heavily involved in the Kree-Skrull wars that took place in the 90s, and also, Nicky Fury will be having an involvement up to a certain extent. So at the end of the movie, Captain Marvel might have been able to end that war and she also might have given Fury that signal transmitter asking him to only call her if the Skrulls invade Earth again.

Now 20+ years later, seeing the disintegration, Fury might have instantly thought that it is the Skrulls who have invaded again as he does not know about Thanos, and hence the distress signal right before he turns to ash. This could mean that the Skrulls may be involved in Avengers 4 as well.

Now, before you go ahead and start thinking that Avengers 4 may be titled “Secret Invasion”, let me stop you as the Skrulls would be having a pretty small role setting up a Secret Invasion Storyline for Phase 4. The villain still would be Thanos and this would just be a plotting for the future.

The reason Skrulls may be involved in Avengers 4 is because of what happened in the comics. Right after the infamous Kree-Skrull wars in the comics, the events of Infinity Gauntlet took place. Following that began the Secret Invasion run, where the Skrulls invaded Earth thinking that the Kree and Earth are involved with the loss of life on their planet.

So, the massive finger snap in Infinity War would have surely wiped out half of their population as well, leading them to believe that Earth and Kree were involved and thus they start plotting the Invasion slowly.

Also, this is where Hawkeye’s story arc as Ronin might come into place. It is suggested that Clint would be on a secret mission to hunt down the Yakuza as Ronin in Japan. And the Yakuza would actually be the green shape-shifting Skrulls hiding on Earth. The reason for this may be the case is because Marvel hired extras who were comfortable with having face prosthetics in the movie, so they may actually be the Skrulls.

Another theory is that Thanos maybe just the pawn in a bigger game. He is driven by the idea of “Balance” to the universe which is often associated with the Celestials in comics. Well, MCU introduced a powerful Celestial namely ‘Ego the Living Planet’ in GOTG Vol. 2. He believed he was the last living Celestial but he was clearly wrong.

These are old, powerful cosmic beings who have limitless God-like powers. Sometimes they are also known as ‘Space Gods’. They are powered by enormous energy which allows them to manifest massive physical forms for themselves. They are not extinct and may have a plan for the entire cosmos after Thanos has wiped off half of all life in the universe.

Well, all these are just mere Rumours and we need to take it as a grain of salt, but this theory does pack some weight and might as well turn out to be true to a certain extent. We will find out when Avengers 4 comes out on May 3, 2019. Right now Avengers Infinity War is playing successfully in theaters, Go and watch it now.

It is directed by Russo brothers who have a brilliant track record of handling big comic-book ensemble movies such as Captain America: Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War. It is produced by Marvel head Kevin Feige along with a set of executive producers including Veteran writer of Marvel comics Stan Lee, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and Michael Grillo. The screenplay has been written by a talented duo – Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
