The New Spider-Man Homecoming Will Feature [Spoiler] As Major Spider-Man Villain!!!

The possibilities are endless for the new generation of heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They have not only revolutionized something already that is termed at the top of its game ergo the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they have added yet another flavor to the cauldron of the Marvel Superheroes and Supervillains. Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Peter Parker lead the charge in providing a new tinge of hope to the MCU.

The Avengers have mostly been about Captain America and Iron Man with Thor, Black Widow and the Hulk supporting them from the sidelines. This time, it will be different. Marvel’s phase 4 will introduce tremendous levels of world building. Spider-Man: Homecoming is about to get its first official sequel and there have been major developments in that area.

As far as the timeline is concerned, we are aware that Spiderman: Homecoming 2 is the first movie releasing after Avengers 4 and it literally set in the world after few minutes of events of untitled Avengers film unfolds. The producer Amy Pascal had this to say about the upcoming sequel:

“What I think we should focus on is this Spider-Man who started in Civil War and then has this movie, and then will be in the Avengers movie. And we are starting now the next one which will start a few minutes after Avengers 4 wraps as a story.”

If rumors are to be truly trusted, the new Spider-Man Homecoming will feature [SPOILER] as MAJOR Spider-Man villain!!!

Spider-Man entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe was nothing but a pipe dream about a decade ago. Sony owned the rights to the web crawler and they were adamant on not letting it go. But then a miracle happened. Spider-Man did end up coming to the MCU and he made an entrance with style and panache.

He was introduced into the MCU in Captain America: Civil War where he was handpicked by Tony Stark to fight for his side against Team Cap. He made his presence felt even though he had never been surrounded by so many heroes. Given that it was his first rhodeo, he did pretty amazing job lifting Cap’s Shield and then showing his moves against other members of Team Cap. From there on, it was clear that Spidey is here to stay in MCU and would probably get his own solo movie.

Well, Marvel & Sony came together to reinvent the Spiderman franchise and guess what their partnership paid off big-time. Tom Holland is considered to be the “perfect Spiderman” who nailed it as both Peter Parker and Web Crawler. Here’s what Robert Downey Jr. said about Tom:

“Tom is the perfect man for the job. He’s enthusiastic, bright and gifted, a very physically talented guy by virtue of his dance and acrobatic background. He has just the right combination of elements required to bring a new take on the character.”

The movie succeeded in revitalizing the Spider-man franchise and brought alive Peter Parker we all love so much. It’s a breezy, fun, colorful ride with fast-paced action and stunning visual effects, in many ways, this is the kind of Spider-man we have been waiting for. It is not entirely flawless but is a great addition to cinema dedicated to the beloved web-slinger. Most of the critics believed that it seamlessly blended into the big MCU.

The greatest highlights of Spider-Man: Homecoming was Tom Holland’s Peter Parker (of course) but also Michael Keaton’s The Vulture. Homecoming delivered splendidly at the Box-office and the fans were left wanting for more. Adrian Toomes is a villain that will forever be etched into the hearts and minds of the Marvel Fans. To top that, we need to have someone as equally talented and impactful in the sequel.

The one that is reportedly going to take over Michael Keaton’s role as Spider-Man’s nemesis is Jake Gyllenhaal. And he will be playing the mysterious, magic-based villain called Mysterio. Mysterio is one of Spider-Man’s greatest villains and one of the crown jewels of the Web head’s Rogues’ Gallery. Mysterio does not actually do magic. He is actually a special effects expert and a stuntman who decided to convert his skills as a Special Effects expert into creating illusions and tricks for a life of crime.

Mysterio is a master of deception and he has defeated Spider-Man with nothing but a bag of tricks up his sleeves on more than one occasions. For Spider-Man to go up against the powerful Mysterio will be a herculean task and when the guy is played by the talented Jake Gyllenhaal, the stakes are raised even higher this time. But he will be battle ready this time and will be able to deal with anything that Mysterio may have in store for him.

The sequel does not have a good enough storyline that has been released online for fans to dissect and debate. It is all wrapped up in secrecy. The one thing we know is Spiderman turned into ash when Thanos snapped his fingers wearing a gauntlet with all the Infinity Stones. But he was the last one to go. Turns out there was a reason for that. Here’s what Infinity War’s VFX lead supervisor Matt Aiken said:

“Spidey’s really fighting it. He definitely doesn’t want to go and he’s fighting… he’s incredibly powerful, so he’s able to withhold it for a lot longer than some of the others, but in the end he can’t withstand it.”

With Spider-Man dead in Infinity War, the future might look bleak for the web crawler. But rest assured he is coming back. Avengers 4 will most likely undo everything Thanos has strived to achieve in Infinity War.

Spidey will be back and if reports that state that Homecoming 2 will begin right after Avengers 4 ends, then the problems will keep piling up for Spider-Man right after he has had his Lazarus moment. Trouble follows Spider-Man like a shadow and this time it will have the face of Jake Gyllenhaal.
