Avengers Infinity War came, it saw and it conquered the minds of everyone. It is the ultimate comic-book thriller that pleased the fans from beginning till the end. The movie has set the cash registers ringing as it opened to an insane opening weekend of around $640 million worldwide and reached to a Billion dollars in just 11 days. This is totally unprecedented and it continues to be an unstoppable hurricane which will breach $2 Billion barrier ending up becoming the highest grossing movie of all time.
With the end of Infinity War, fans are starting to think as to what course of action the Marvel Cinematic Universe would take from here. The cliffhanger at the end left nothing else to be desired for as it was as fulfilling as a cliffhanger could be. It was the same feeling we had when ‘Red Wedding’ took place in Game of Thrones TV series.
But when you have a diehard fan base, fan theories are sort of complementary. Everyone is so shocked with what happened that they are lapping up anything and everything that could give them some sort of reasonable explanation shedding light on the events.
Theories about Gamora, Adam Warlock, Captain Marvel, the Infinity Gauntlet, and even Thanos have caught massive steam in the days following Infinity War’s worldwide premiere on April 27. Another one has recently caught everyone’s attention. And while it did not sound as realistic (or sane) before, it is starting more and more sense now. This Crazy Infinity War Fan theory has gripped the Internet by storm!!!!
SPOILER ALERT: MAJOR Spoilers for Infinity War Up Ahead. Enter at your own risk….
Thanos is able to do what he originally collected the Gauntlet for. He believes life, if left unchecked, could be a destructive force and end up using the finite resources the universe has. He wishes to use the Gauntlet to wipe out half of all life so that the remaining could come out of poverty and enjoy nice sunrises.
The Six Infinity Stones would give him that power. He does collect all the six Infinity Stones. Once he had the Time stone, he came to Wakanda to obtain the final stone (Vision’s Mind Stone), but there he faces the combined wrath of the Earth’s mightiest heroes.
Thor is the only one who is able to stand up to the Mad Titan’s might. He uses his Stormbreaker axe to impale Thanos right in his chest. But Thor makes a fatal error. He “should have gone for the head.” Thanos snaps his fingers as half of the universe is wiped out. He retreats to a safe location using the Space Stone as many heroes, including Doctor Strange – who had seen the only future timeline where they win, turn to dust.
A new fan theory has surfaced online which suggests something really insane. The Infinity War writers are also writing the script for Avengers 4 and they say the story won’t be what the fans think it is. Here’s what Christopher Markus said:
“[Avengers 4] doesn’t do what you think it does. It is a different movie than you think it is. Also…[the deaths are] real. I just want to tell you it’s real, and the sooner you accept that, the sooner you will be able to move on to the next stage of grief”.
McFeely added:
“Put it this way, I think [Infinity War] is a fairly mature movie for a blockbuster. It’s got a lot of fun in it, obviously, but boy, it gets very mature. The second one is also mature. We’re going to own these choices, and hopefully surprise and delight you and get you invested. It’s by the same studio, the same filmmaking team. They were written at the same time, shot at the same time. They’re clearly connected, but they are definitely two different movies, one of which is dependent on what happened previous”.
This fan theory uses that as a foundation to claim that Thanos never killed anyone when he snapped his fingers at the end of Infinity War. The heroes and the rest of the universe that turned to dust are alive and well…in another universe. That’s right folks!!
This theory claims Thanos did not wipe out half the universe. He merely used the Gauntlet to create another Big Bang and a mirror universe, where the people that turned to ashes and were presumed dead, were actually transported to. The movie goes out if its way to mention the Stones were created during the Big Bang. This theory is getting more and more plausible by the day.
Datageek9, a Redditor, claims that the sequel to Infinity War will be based on technology. There is a reason Strange gave up the time stone to save Tony Stark. Tony is the key to taking down Thanos. Ant-Man and the Wasp is the next MCU movie in line and it will touch upon the subject of the Quantum realm.
If the dead heroes have been indeed displaced to another reality, maybe the Quantum Realm is where we find them, or at the very least, it will be the key into unlocking the mirror universe the dead heroes are in. Maybe this is where Tony Stark’s B.A.R.F Technology, which has been rumored to play a major role in Avengers 4, comes in.
While this theory screams INSANE at the top of its lungs, it is the only one that is unpredictable enough. The Soul World theories and the time travel theories are pretty obvious and predictable, and since Marvel has taken a knack for surprising us, maybe this little plot element is how they do it.
Moreover, the writer duo has teased that some never before seen aspects may be featured in Avengers 4 such as alternate realities, resurrections, time travel, more mysticism, parallel dimensions etc. so basically anything is possible.
