10 Incredible Facts About The Children of Thanos We Bet You Never Knew!!!

In his quest to obtain absolute power, Thanos has not only conquered several planets but also the hearts of several females. The Alien Titan has had a long run with the opposite sex. He has sired countless children. The Mad Titan fears his own children the most, thinking that they will one day usurp him. So he tries to kill them as soon as possible. But sometimes, Thanos takes a liking for his own blood and his own children end up serving their father in his army. How well do you know about these off-springs of Thanos??

Presenting 10 incredible facts about the Children of Thanos we bet you never knew!!!

Corvus Glaive

Many don’t know this but Corvus Glaive was a villain in the Marvel Comics long before he pledged his loyalty to Thanos. Thanos is said to favor Corvus Glaive the most because of the latter’s undying loyalty to the former. Corvus Glaive has literally sold his soul to the Titan. It’s only once that he betrayed Thanos when he was captured, he took control of entire Black Order and Black Quadrant which was a bold move, but Thanos returned to reclaim his throne and he killed himself using his own weapon.

His Glaive grants him virtual immortality and he is extremely ruthless in carrying out his master’s orders. He is the immortal servant of Thanos. He is also known as “Merciless” who doesn’t think twice before killing his opponents, no matter how innocent they are. He was once ordered by Thanos to destroy X-Men and he almost took them down.

Black Dwarf

Black Dwarf is the brother of Corvus Glaive. While Glaive became a member of the Black Order due to his extremely insane martial arts abilities, Black Dwarf did the same with brute strength alone. Black Dwarf has the strength to rival that of the Hulk and a skin that is virtually impenetrable. Black Dwarf was later killed in the comic books by Ronan the Accuser.

Proxima Midnight

Second only to her husband Corvus Glaive in terms of fighting prowess, Proxima Midnight’s true abilities lie in her weapon much like Glaive. Thanos personally gifted the weapon to Proxima. The Weapon was forged in a sun trapped in a space-time anomaly. The weapon can produce nets with the weight of an entire star and even inject the enemy with a lethal toxin that has no antidote. Proxima Midnight is a nihilist.

She was tasked by Thanos to destroy the city of Atlantis and she laid waste large portions of it and unleashed the kind of terror that the likes of Namor had never seen before. She then asked Namor to help her take down Wakanda and he agreed. She pinned down Hulk under the weight of an entire star. She once killed her own husband Glaive. She saved the multi-verse. Her weapon is a space-time anomaly and has the power of a supernova.

Ebony Maw

Ebony maw is the brains of the Black Order. He does not have close combat abilities neither does he have super strength. What he does have however is his innate ability to manipulate people to his will. He once managed to not only defeat Doctor Strange but even turned him into a double agent. Ebony Maw also possesses a teleportation device and a force field generator he employs in the battlefield.

He is a master strategist and a tactician but not a big fan of violence and that’s precisely what makes him the most dangerous of them all. He served Thanos against Ego The Living Planet whose existence was a curse to Death, but the battle resulted in a stalemate. It is one of the greatest practitioners of psychological warfare and he has toppled entire planets just by working from the shadows. He once took down “The Illuminati” on his own.

Unlike Glaive, Betrayal is in his DNA. He betrayed Thanos when he saw an opportunity to best him using Thane. Unfortunately, in the movie Infinity War, he was totally wasted.

Supergiant

Supergiant was found by The Mad Titan in an institution for the mentally unstable. Supergiant has unique mind control abilities and feeds on intelligence like a parasite. She was killed by Maximus and Lockjaw when Maximus activated bombs she had planted and made Lockjaw transport her and the bombs to a remote distant planet to detonate.

Gamora

In the comic book, Gamora was taken in by Thanos who trained her for the sole purpose of taking down Magus (which she periodically failed in). Gamora remained loyal to the Titan as he had promised that he will help her kill the people responsible for wiping out her home planet.

In Infinity War, it was shown that The Mad Titan himself was responsible for it. When Thanos and Gamora reached Vormir, a place where Soul Stone is buried, they found Red Skull who told Thanos that he has to sacrifice a loved soul for the soul stone; the next thing we saw was Thanos lifting Gamora and threw her off the cliff. She is now inside the Soul world.

Nebula

Nebula was never the daughter of The Mad Titan as she claimed in the comic books. She was actually a space pirate who was trying to save her own skin by saying that Thanos was his biological father.

When Thanos discovered her treachery, he turned her into a being that existed within life and death using the Infinity Gauntlet. In the movie ‘Avengers Infinity War’, Thanos captured and tortured her to force her sister Gamora to give up the location of Soul stone i.e Vormir.

Thane

Thane is the biological son of Thanos and an Inhuman. He hid in a secret Inhuman planet until Thanos came to know of his existence. As Thanos came after his own son, Ebony Maw made Thane undergo terrigenesis, awakening his inhuman powers. His ultimate ability is Amber where he could encase people in living energy. Thane would later use them to trap The Mad Titan and the entire Black Order (sans Ebony Maw) in a state of living Death. Later, Corvus Glaive managed to escape using his weapon as a conduit.

The Rot

Thanos’ tryst with Lady Death is forever doomed to be an incomplete love story. But one time, Lady Death did cave into the Titan’s demands and became intimate with Thanos. Their offspring, the Rot, then become a grave threat to the entire universe and so Lady Death gives Thanos the task of killing their own son, which he does.

The Thanosi

The Thanosi were clones of Thanos after he decided to splice his own genes with that of the other heroes. He eventually destroyed most of them but not before five of them escaping their doom. The Thanosi would later try to kill the cosmic being known as Atlez to destroy the universe. They failed as Thanos ordered a group of mercenaries to blast the planet they were into smithereens.

Black Order is a group comprising of children of Thanos, handpicked by him from the darkest corners of the world. These include Corvus Glaive, Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight, Cull Obsidian etc. They recently featured in MCU’s Avengers Infinity War but their treatment couldn’t have been worse. Their superpowers were never fully exploited and now they are all dead. Here’s the official synopsis of Avengers Infinity War:

“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain”.
