Hulk vs Hulkbuster, This is a battle that is one of the most talked about ones. We saw a significant amount of it in Age of Ultron, but it didn’t completely come to an end if you think about it. We were so not done seeing this two smash each other. So, let’s analyze their strengths and see who will actually be the ultimate winner.
The Hulkbuster
Well, Hulkbuster is one of the suits of Iron Man and as shown in Age Of Ultron is pretty powerful and can sometimes, mind it, sometimes even beat the shit out of the Hulk. It is the Mark 44 Extra Heavy-Duty Modular Armor that has great brute strength, can lift more than a thousand tons and has rockets to power its punches. Nicknamed “Veronica”, the Hulkbuster armor is an extension of the Mark 43 Armour, and on the contrary to one Arc Reactor that is used in a usual Iron Man suit, the Hulkbuster has approximately 11 arc reactors and a stronger repulsor-system to sustain flight.
The armor is almost twice the size of the Hulk, and it’s armor plates have been upgraded to withstand the attacks of The Hulk. Everything in this power has been dialed to 11 as comparing it with a normal Iron Man Armour, Mark 44 is equipped with larger more powerful repulsors to help sustain flight with the increased weight and fire beams much more lethal than the usual ones. Other than the Repulsors, the armor has an insanely wide Unibeam, Micro-Punching Repeating System, and giant rockets.
The specialty about this armor is that contains replacement pieces of armor to replace those damaged in battle and not only that, the Hulkbuster has small Gamma radiation holes to weaken the Hulk. The problems with this suit are that it lacks mobility and supersonic speeds which the usual Iron Man Armours possess.
The Hulk
Hulk is a force no one can control, not even he himself. When he is ‘Smashing’ no one stays standing. Hulk is probably the strongest Avenger (well according to Tony he is) and no one would want to cross paths against this giant green rage monster. Bruce Banner is a scientist with a genius level intellect and he became the Hulk when he was accidentally exposed to Gamma rays during the detonation of an experimental bomb as they were trying to recreate the Super Soldier Serum that turned Steve Rogers into Captain America. Instead what was created was this big Green Goliath.
When Banner transformers into the Hulk, he becomes extremely powerful and loses control being subjected to emotional stress, at or against his will, often leading to destructive rampages and conflicts that complicate Banner’s civilian life. His Strength is often proportionate to the level of anger he possesses at a time. Attacking the Hulk will make him angrier and hence even stronger, so that would be a foolish mistake to make for anyone. His powers include superhuman strength and durability. He can run really fast despite being so heavy and can jump higher than a building.
The Hulk vs The Hulkbuster
Hulk and the Buster have fought each other twice in the comics. The first time resulted in a tie, while the second time, it was torn into pieces. This Armour has been built to totally take on him, and as we saw in Age of Ultron, it actually did take the Hulk down. As we saw in Age of Ultron, the Hulk had completely lost it when Scarlet Witch scrambled his mind, and Tony had to call in the contingency, which was Veronica. The Hulk went on the path of destruction, and if it wasn’t for Mark 44, the Hulk may have taken down the entire country!
The Armour as we saw was not only able to withstand the attacks of the Green Goliath, but it was able to pound him to the ground, showing him who the real boss is! Since the Hulk was not really thinking at that point of time being in all “Smash” mode, Iron Man was able to take the advantage of that. But if we bring it to a fair fight when he is completely in his senses, there is no way the Hulkbuster comes out on top. Even the upgraded version that we saw in Avengers: Infinity War would not have been able to take him down.
As we know that the Hulk is now evolved, and even after the trauma he suffered with the fight against Thanos, it is still one of the strongest Avengers and will be able to take down the Hulkbuster! It will all come to the point where the fight goes on and on. The longer the two are going to fight, the better it will be for him. He has feelings now, and with the anger and rage, he is also using his brains in a fight, so he will completely demolish the Hulkbuster if the fight goes longer, because every trick that the armor has up its sleeve, is going to work at its own disadvantage as those tricks are only going to make the Hulk angrier. We all know, the angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes!
