Here’s Why Ant-Man Could Be The Key To Defeat Thanos In Avengers 4

Avengers: Infinity War has been playing in the theatres for almost a month now, and we still have not gotten over the fact that how amazing the movie actually was. Bringing in close to 70 characters and pulling off a suspense action thriller was just remarkable on the part of Marvel. Thanos made us feel his presence in a major way, and he left a huge impact upon us. we have been left deeply scarred and waiting desperately for Avengers 4.

No other movie has ever created this sudden urge amongst viewers, this certain need to see what follows next. It usually happens with a TV series that leaves fans with a Cliffhanger which is to be solved next season. A major example of this has been Game of Thrones. Marvel has built a similar suspense and hype for Avengers 4 now.

As of now, we don’t know much about what will happen in Avengers 4. It is actually a bigger mystery than Infinity War was. Fans are wondering how the Avengers will actually beat Thanos from here on. Thanos managed to win in their last encounter, being able to wipe out half the population of the entire Universe. That also led to the death of some major players amongst the Avengers as well. Bucky, Sam, Wanda, Groot, Star-lord, Mantis, Drax, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man were all disintegrated.

The cycle of death is likely to continue in the next installment of Avengers too. Even if the remaining Avengers find a way to pick up the pieces and organize resistance with reinforcements, this could all be in vain. The Infinity War writers indicated that Avengers 4 maybe a lot darker than Infinity War and the two movies are entirely different but still connected. They said:

Markus: “[Avengers 4] doesn’t do what you think it does. It is a different movie than you think it is. Also…[the deaths are] real. I just want to tell you it’s real, and the sooner you accept that the sooner you will be able to move on to the next stage of grief”.

McFeely added – “Put it this way. I think [Infinity War] is a fairly mature movie for a blockbuster. It’s got a lot of fun in it, obviously, but boy, it gets very mature. The second one is also mature. We’re going to own these choices, and hopefully surprise and delight you and get you invested. It’s by the same studio, the same filmmaking team. They were written at the same time, shot at the same time. They’re clearly connected, but they are definitely two different movies, one of which is dependent on what happened previously”.

It is even more difficult to defeat Thanos from here on. Thor may be the biggest gun for the Avengers right now, and Captain Marvel, the strongest Marvel character is also coming in, so Thanos does have a big opposition by these two characters itself. But still, he does have the Infinity Stones with him. Also, finding Thanos may be a bit tricky from here on as well. Other than Captain Marvel, we have confirmation that 3 more characters are also coming in.

Hawkeye, Ant-Man and the Wasp are going to have major roles in Infinity War as well. Hawkeye is going to adopt the alter ego of Ronin. Wasp will have brief but important role and while Captain Marvel will probably be the MVP, it is actually Ant-Man who could be the major key to defeating Thanos.

Seeing the various set photos, we know that Avengers 4 is going to have Time Travel involved in a major way. But how will that be done remains to be a big puzzle as they key aspect that makes Time Travel possible is with Thanos and Doctor Strange, who knows how to use the Time Stone is dead.

With Thanos having the Time Stone, the movie will have to bring some other approach into play which is where the importance of Ant-Man and the Wasp comes into play. The sequel to Ant-Man will heavily dive into the Quantum Realm, and it was explained in the first An-Man by Hank Pym that Quantum Realm is “a reality where all concepts of time and space become irrelevant as you shrink for all eternity.” So, that is how Time Travel may come into play here and it is probably the only option left other than retrieving the Time Stone from Thanos and bringing back Doctor Strange to life.

Now, how we know that this may be the play in the next movie is because of the major set pieces showed Ant-Man in his new suit standing alongside Steve Rogers who is wearing his Captain America Suit from the first Avengers movie, Bruce Banner probably hulked out, and Tony wearing the costume of a SHIELD Agent.

So this may be a scene of a Time Jump as Avengers 4 might be taking place almost 2 years after the events of Infinity War which explains all these changes in these characters as Tony may be the new leader of SHIELD, Steve is back as Cap, and Banner has figured out the problems with Hulk. What is really prominent here is that all of them are wearing some kind of device on their hands which actually may be devices for them to be able to sustain themselves in the Quantum Realm.

So, the reason why Ant-Man is the major player in the quest to beat Thanos is because of his ability to access the Quantum Realm. No other Avenger has this ability except Dr. Strange (who is dead), and Ant-Man using the Quantum Realm would actually allow him to make sneak attacks that Thanos can never anticipate. Plus the Quantum Realm could be used to bring back major dead characters with Time Travel being involved. This is why Ant-Man could surely be the biggest character of Avengers 4.

The ensemble Infinity War cast is overwhelmingly amazing it has brought some of the biggest stars under one roof including Josh Brolin (Thanos), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Pratt (Star Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Peter Dinklage (Eitri), Sebastian Stan (Winter soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Peter Dinklage (Eitri), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Vin Diesel (Groot), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Reiner (Hawkeye), Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Tom Holland (Spiderman), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Evangeline Lilly (Wasp), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlett Witch), Karen Gillian (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Dave Bautista (Drax), Paul Bettany (Vision), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), Samuel Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Mariah Hill).
