Infinity War is among the greatest comic book events in the history of Marvel comics. In the MCU, in the last decade, there have been 18 movies that have been released and everything that has happened has led us to an epic showdown that we have all been waiting for.

On one side, there is Thanos who is on a mission to collect all the six Infinity stones – Power, Space, Mind, Time, Reality, Soul; assemble the Infinity gauntlet and gain control over the fundamental forces of existence. On the other side, there are Avengers and Guardians who will join forces, safeguard the Infinity stones and do whatever it takes to save the humanity. Which side will ultimately prevail? Soon, we will have our answer.

But Mad Titan ‘Thanos’ is not alone in his quest to become the most powerful cosmic creature, his adopted children (whom he picked up from darkest corners of the universe) who are sometimes known as ‘Black Order’  are firmly behind him and will wreak havoc and destruction upon anyone dares to stop the march of their father. On the other hand, Thanos’ other children Gamora and Nebula are baying for his blood especially Nebula.

The Black Order consists of the deadliest of members for all around the universe. They serve Thanos as his most trusted Generals. Among them is Corvus Glaive, the greatest of them all. Before ‘Avengers Infinity War’ graces the screens, let‘s talk about Mr. Glaive for a bit. Presenting 15 Incredible facts about Black Order’s Corvus Glaive – The Immortal Servant of Thanos….

He is the most loyal servant

Corvus Glaive has betrayed his own people to serve Thanos. IN order to win the Mad Titan’s trust, he has killed his own brethren. That makes him exceedingly loyal to Thanos’ cause.

He is the husband of fellow Black Order member – Proxima Midnight

Among all the members of the Black Order, Glaive and Midnight are the only ones married and that too, with each other. They make a notoriously dangerous team who can get anything done for Thanos.

He attacked the X-Men and almost wiped them out

Glaive and Supergiant, another Black Order member, were tasked by Thanos to attack Jean Grey’s School of higher learning and wipe out the X-Men before Thanos invaded the Earth.

He is the Black Order’s greatest fighter

Corvus Glaive carries the name of his weapon, which is a glaive. He was created to be the personification of his own weapon. Glaive’s fighting style is unique, deadly and unpredictable.

He is called ‘The Merciless’

Glaive is the most loyal servant of Thanos. He has sold his soul to the Mad Titan just for the sake of serving him. He has no qualms for killing his opponents in Thanos’ name, no matter how innocent they might be. In the official trailer of the upcoming Avengers Infinity War, Glaive was the one who was trying to remove Mind stone off Vision’s forehead by sheer force. He is not called ‘The Merciless’ for no reason.

He defeated the Hulk in close combat

The Hulk faced Glaive and Proxima in battle while trying to locate Thanos. The Hulk, aided by Cap, was still no match for Corvus and Proxima who soundly defeated the duo.

He was ‘killed’ by Hyperion

In the same battle, Captain America used his shield to reflect some of Proxima’s attacks on Corvus. Hyperion then finally managed to kill Corvus, and then came a deadly twist.

Corvus Glaive is unkillable

As long his weapon, the formidable Glaive, is intact, Corvus is immortal and can be resurrected from his own weapon. His weapon somehow houses Corvus’ life essence within itself.

He escaped Thane when even Thanos Couldn’t

Thane’s ultimate ability is Amber – the ability to encase people in living energy in a state of living death. He used this to trap Thanos and most of the Black Order. But only Corvus managed to escape Thane’s ability using his weapon as a conduit.

Namor helped Corvus form ‘The Cabal’

When Namor decided to free Corvus from his imprisonment, he also let others like Terrax and Black Swan go free on the condition that they destroy alternate Earths that threatened Namor’s own.

He usurped Thanos

When Thanos was eventually captured, Corvus would take control of the Black Order and rule from the Black Quadrant, a sector of highly dangerous space. Corvus was eventually betrayed by his own as Thanos came back to reclaim his throne. Corvus and Thanos fought and naturally, the former lost to his master. Corvus decided to kill himself with his own weapon rather than let Thanos kill him.

He killed the Human Torch

Glaive, while battling the Lethal Legion, did something unforgivable. His actions led to the death of the Human Torch aka Johnny Storm. Glaive was then killed by Rogue of the X-Men in a fit of rage.

His weapon can slice atoms

Corvus Glaive’s weapon is so strong it can slice through anything, including atoms. Considering the weapon houses so many incredible abilities as well as his soul that much is understandable.

He has destroyed several worlds in Thanos’ name

Corvus has led conquests of dozens of worlds in the name of the Mad Titan. He and Proxima Midnight together have annihilated entire civilizations in the search for the Infinity Stones. Glaive is the most terrifying and dangerous mercenary who can intimidate his opponents by his very presence.

He is an extraordinary tactician

Serving under Thanos, Corvus has grown accustomed to warfare. He has amassed a wealth of knowledge when it comes to battle strategy and war tactics. Using his newfound knowledge, Corvus has grown to become an extremely formidable warrior who is not only lethal with the blade but the mind as well. He is not as good as Ebony Maw when it comes to strategy but he is only next to him.

Corvus Glaive will be seen in the upcoming ‘Avengers Infinity War’, a movie that is expected to shatter all box office records and blow our minds as never before anything like this been attempted by a studio.
