Avengers: Infinity War – Tony Stark Wearing The Cloak of Levitation?

Avengers: Infinity War is going to be this massive event we have waited 10 years for. Ever since Iron Man showed up back in 2008, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been building up to Thanos’ arrival. This has been one epic saga that will come to an end with the upcoming two huge team-up movie events, Infinity War and Avengers 4. Avengers 4 will mark the new beginning for the MCU as things are going to change drastically.

Till now, Marvel has been marketing the movie in full force releasing new clips, trailers, TV Spots, images, posters, promo arts, action figures, and merchandise. At the same time, they have been keeping things really close to the chest, which is why the grand premiere of this movie has been set just 3 days before the worldwide release of the movie. Also, the embargo of the movie will lift on the same day, so that is probably when we will get a general consensus of this movie.

Now, a new set video of Avengers: Infinity War has hit the net and it is making us wonder that what situation in the movie would be, that this could have happened. In this new set video, we see a still where Tony Stark is wearing the Cloak of Levitation. Well, this could very well be just the cast having fun around the set, but could it be something more than just that?

The Cloak of Levitation is a mystical object that chose Dr. Stephen Strange. It does not go around anyone as it has its own consciousness, and no one can just pick it up and wear it like a cape. So, there could be a sequence in the movie where Strange might be in danger, for example, the time when he was being tortured by Ebony Maw, and in that moment he does not even have the Cloak on his back.

Also, we saw that Tony’s suit has been completely destroyed in a fight against Thanos. So, this may be the time when the Cloak sees Tony as someone who could save Strange and himself from that imminent danger, and that is why it goes around Tony’s back, allowing him to fly even without his suit. Or it may be the case in some other similar sort of situation. So does this mean that we will see yet another Science bro start using magic? Well this would be getting way ahead of what the reality may be, but who knows, it is Avengers: Infinity War and since this movie is literally so huge, there are countless possibilities of what could happen and what could not.

But, this scene could be as mentioned above because in the set video, there’s glimpse of Cumberbatch in a scene in which Strange appears to be levitating, but he’s not wearing the Cloak of Levitation (although does still have the Eye of Agamotto), so the thing talked about above does seem pretty possible, or it may very well be Robert Downey Jr. having fun on the set and nothing more. we will only find out when the movie comes out.

Recently, Benedic Cumberbatch revealed in an interview that Doctor Strange will have really changed drastically in this movie. Here’s what he said:

“We met a very somber person by the end of the first film. I think he’d become crude into the idea of being really heroic is sacrificing your own needs and selfishness for something a little more selfless and doing good for others. That’s a lonely part for the taking. That moment where he looks at the watch, his last vestige to Christine, and then out of the window and there he is in a profile of a hero to come.”

He also talked about the continuation of his evolution that we saw in Ragnarok. He continued:

“That’s the person we meet a little bit in Thor: Ragnarok, giving Thor the run around, and then very much so in this. He’s, as everyone is in this film, constantly taken by surprise by the speed of events, the ramping up of jeopardy, however the events and threats just overtake them basically. Everyone is just playing a game of survival in this film. He still seems to be a little step ahead, slightly book-ending it with some foresight. Also, trying to be more of the adult in the room. There’s still comedy but he’s not quite as petulant and certainly not as egotistical narcissistic as he was in the first film.”

So, it will be interesting to see how influential Doctor Strange and Iron Man are to the plot. Avengers: Infinity War opens on April 27.
