Aquaman Director Teases The Black Manta Helmet

While we got to see how Aquaman and Atlantis look to be underwater and how everything works, in Justice League, fans are really hyped to see the solo Aquaman movie as it will continue the story of Arthur Curry, who after finding out that he is the heir to the throne of the underwater Kingdom will take on his brother Orm, in order to lead his people and be a hero to the world.

Aquaman probably has the most kick-ass cast members playing the characters from the rich DC core. One of the biggest characters that is going to show up in this movie is Black Manta who is one of the arch enemies of Aquaman in the comics. Black Manta in the movie will be played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II who is a very gifted actor.

Even though fans haven’t got to see a look at Black Manta on the big screen, we know that director James Wan is going to nail this character along with every other aspect of the movie. Wan recently delivered a very clever hint regarding Black Manta.

James Wan shared a photo of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, taking part in the ADR of the Aquaman movie. Since Mateen will be in a helmet for most of the time during the movie, Wan pointed out that Mateen may be recording his dialogues for the movie by talking into a trash can in order to simulate “the inside of a certain large helmet.”

Here’s what he tweeted regarding this picture:

“Doing voice looping. Hey @yahya, why are you talking into a trash can?? Oh right. Fancy way of simulating the inside of a certain large helmet.”

As DC fans are familiar with Black Manta wearing a big dome like helmet, on his head, well this is what Abdul Mateen might have been having fun with while doing his voice over as he used the trash can instead of the helmet and might have been getting used to talking through the helmet through this funny process. But most importantly, after seeing a tease about this by James Wan himself, the day may not be far when we get to see the first look at Black Manta with his entire costume from the movie.

After this, Abdul Mateen ended up sharing a photo and a video of him wearing a trash can on his head while carrying various kitchen utensils in order to personify Black Manta along with his gear and weaponry. It was all done in good fun and doing this, Mateen may have accidentally revealed his Black Manta voice. But this personification did end up disappointing some fans.

Well, all this will be forgotten as soon as the new look at Black Manta comes out (which could probably be in a trailer as well) because we know that it is going to be insane. Wan himself has been teasing a trailer for quite a while and it may be coming out pretty soon.

To know what you could expect from Black Manta, have a look at the version of Black Manta in Injustice 2. This character has awesome movies and you would love to play with him.

Along with Aquaman and Black Manta, there are various other aspects about the movie that we should be excited about. Director James Wan as we have seen is the master of horror and has also proven with Furious 7 that he can direct an action-packed movie as well.

Along with the director, we can look out for Mera played by Amber Heard and the big bad of the movie Orm, The Ocean Master, the brother of Arthur curry who will be played by Patrick Wilson.

Here’s the synopsis of the movie:

Aquaman will center on Aquaman as a reluctant ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis who is caught between land dwellers that are always polluting the globe and his own people who are ready to invade the surface.”

The stars of the movie include Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Amber Heard as Mera, and Willem Dafoe as Dr. Vulko, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanta and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta. Aquaman will hit the theatres on December 21, 2018.
