The new Ant-Man and The Wasp trailer hit the internet yesterday and it took the internet by storm. Marvel is producing a remarkable quality of movies and by the looks of it, this one will also follow the hype-train of Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. The new trailer revealed quite a bit and was the typical first look at a Marvel movie. Here is a list of the big takeaways from this new trailer.
People weren’t sure when Ant-Man and The Wasp would exactly take place in the timeline of the MCU as it is coming out after Avengers: Infinity War. But the trailer gives it away that the movie is going to be the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War and may well be a prequel to Infinity War since Scott talked about the events of Civil War with Hope at the beginning of the trailer.
Scott gets caught, again!
We see in the trailer that even though Steve Rogers freed Scott Lang along with the other members of team Cap from the supermax floating prison, Scott still winds up getting caught somehow and is put on house arrest and remains under 24-hour observation by the government.
Hank Pym and Hope are on the run
As it was revealed that because of Scott Lang’s participation in the Civil War, Hank Pym and Hope Van Dyne got caught into the crossfire and in order to stop their research and Pym particles from falling into the wrong hands, they had to remain off the grid on the run.
The Wasp suit
At the end of the first Ant-Man movie, we got the first look at the suit which Hope Van Dyne was going to do in order to become the Wasp. But then it was revealed that it was a prototype and now we have got to see an updated version of it with the whole Black and Gold color line in live action and it really looks pretty dope!
Powers of The Wasp suit
Well as it was obvious that the suit that Hope was going to don had wings and shrinking abilities since it is literally called “The Wasp”, but it also has blasters, which shoot out of the hands and are the MCU versions of ‘The Wasp Stings’ from the comics.
We know that Laurence Fishburne will be in the movie and he is going to play Dr. Bill Foster aka Goliath. We get our first look at Fishburne’s character in the movie and since Goliath who also has the ability to grow bigger in size is a good guy in the comics, he probably will team up with Ant-Man and the Wasp later in the movie.
Well, we have seen Giant Man in Civil War, but it looks like he is going to be even bigger in the movie. We see him growing in size hovering over a boat in or to retrieve a stolen property of Hank and Hope which actually is the building they shrunk down in the beginning of the trailer, from a smaller villain of the movie called Sonny Burch.
Sonny Burch is a smaller villain in the movie will be played by Walton Goggins. In the trailer we see that he has somehow stolen the research facility that Hank shrunk down in the beginning of the trailer. He is the chairman of Cross industries in the comics and it seems that he will be carrying forward and profit from the work of Darren Cross in this movie.
We have seen the Quantum realm twice in the MCU, the first time we saw it was when Ant-Man went subatomic, and the second was when The Ancient One sent Stephen Strange through the multiverse and he went through the Quantum realm. Now, we actually see a ship that has been developed by Hank Pym and it sort of seems to be traveling through the Quantum realm in order to find Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Phiefer) and bring her back.
In the trailer, we got the first look at the villain of the movie Ghost. Ghost is a male character in the comics but in the MCU it is going to be a woman as it will be played by Hannah John Kamen. In the comics, Ghost is an elite hacker who can make himself invisible and phase through things, and we even get to see the powers of Ghost in the trailer as we see an arm flickering and phasing in and out of view.
