13 Superhero Movies That Are Coming Out In 2018

The superhero movie genre is one of the most popular movie genres right now. There used to be fever superhero movies before 2000’s, but now the trend has changed and Marvel is leading this genre really well. With the recent success of its Thor: Ragnarok, it seems like there’s no sign of slowing down in this genre. DC, on the other hand, also seems charged up to take this trend forward.

The success of The Dark Knight Trilogy, Iron Man, Avengers, Captain America, X-Men, and others prove the huge potential of the comic book characters and show how much the audiences from all over the world want to see their favorite characters on screen.

Every year we see superhero movies leaving a huge mark on the global box office and how crazy the fans are for their beloved superhero characters. Just like the previous years, this year is also loaded with some great line-up of superhero movies. So, today we have prepared a list of the upcoming superhero movies that will hit the theatres in 2018:

Black Panther (February 16, 2018)

After making his debut in Captain America Civil War, Black Panther/T’Challa has now moved back to Wakanda and over there he will be challenged as a ruler as his competitor is going to have a different take on the throne of Wakanda.  It seems that Marvel fans are in for an insane ride at Wakanda. The movie will be released worldwide on February 16, 2018, and it is going to star an “All Black” cast with Chadwick Boseman playing King T’Challa.

Avengers: Infinity War (May 4, 2018)

Avengers: Infinity War is one of the most awaited superhero movies of all time is going to come out on May 4, 2018 (USA) and a week earlier in India and other markets. It will probably be the best superhero movie of all time as it is going to feature a lot of big names like Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt and many more. It will bring in the villain that is being set up since the first Avengers movie, Thanos and will be played by Josh Brolin.

Deadpool 2 (May 18, 2018)

This is the most anticipated R-rated movie of 2018 considering what the first part of the movie did. This time it is going to be much bigger and better as the number of characters has increased. Along with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and the other cast members of the previous movie, We are going to have Cable (Josh Brolin) as well as Domino (Zazie Beats). Release date – 18 May 2018.

The Incredibles 2 (June 15, 2018)

It’s been 13 years since The Incredibles was released. The movie was a megahit then and is now finally getting a sequel. Samuel L. Jackson, John Ratzenberger and Craig T. Nelson are also confirmed to be a part of the sequel. Most of the creative team is also going to return to the movie and we just hope that the movie will be as incredible as the first one.

Ant-Man and The Wasp (July 6, 2018)

The sequel to the hit MCU movie Antman from 2015 is going to hit the theatres on July 6, 2018. Paul Rudd is going to reprise his role as Scott Lang/Antman and Evangeline Lilly will get to be the Wasp in the movie. Along with these two, Michael Douglas and Michael Pena are going to reprise their roles and just like the previous one Peyton Reed is directing the sequel as well.

Alita: Battle Angel (July 20, 2018)

It’s another superhero animated movie set to release next year. The movie is set in 26th-century dystopian future where a cyborg is created to take down the criminals. The movie is set to release on July 20, 2018. James Cameron is producing the movie and we will see actress Rosa Salazar voicing the title character of the movie.

Venom (October 5, 2018)

This year it was announced that Sony is starting a whole Spider-man Universe which is going to focus on the characters of the Spider-man comics but not Spidey himself. It is going to be different from Spider-man in the MCU and the first movie of Sony’s Spider-verse is going to be Venom starring Tom Hardy. It is going to hit the theatres on October 5, 2018.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix (November 2, 2018)

One of the next installments in the X-Men Franchise and the Sequel to X-Men Apocalypse is probably going to be the biggest X-Men movie of all time as it is going to re-attempt the iconic Dark Phoenix storyline from the comics almost all of the cast members are returning for the movie. Release date- November 2, 2018.

Animated Spider-Man Movie (December 21, 2018)

Tom Holland is currently the face of MCU’s Spider-Man, but that doesn’t mean that Sony has no more rights on the hero. An animated Spider-man movie featuring Miles Morales as Spider-Man is currently in works. Miles Morales takes the mantle of Spider-Man after the death of Peter Parker. The movie will be directed by Bob Persichetti and Peter Ramsey and will hit the theatres in December next year.

Aquaman (December 21, 2018)

Jason Momoa is playing Aquaman. There’s no doubt that they’ve been taking Aquaman very seriously. Amber Heard will also appear as Queen Mera. Patrick Wilson is Ocean Master and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is Black Manta. The movie will release on December 21, 2018.

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight  (TBA 2018)

Batman is not a new face in animated movies. He has some of the greatest animated superhero movies under his belt and Batman: Gotham by Gaslight might as well follow this trend. The movie will follow the story of the comic with the similar name in which our heroes were put in some alternate realities and timelines. The movie will be released sometime in 2018 and will feature Bruce Greenwood as Batman and Jennifer Carpenter as Catwoman.

Suicide Squad: Hell To Pay (TBA 2018)

We saw the team of some anti-heroes turned saviors getting their own movie last year. Next year the squad will be introduced to the world of animation. The movie may also feature the Justice League and Teen Titans. As of now, no announcement has been made regarding the cast of the movie, but we do know that the movie will feature a completely original plot. It is set to release in spring next year.

The Death of Superman Part 1  (TBA 2018)

The movie will be based on one of DC’s most controversial comic book storylines. The storyline which saw the death and resurrection of the Man of Steel. It’s undoubtedly one of the most popular Superman stories ever and fans will be experiencing this epic storyline in the form of the animated movie next year. If this movie becomes a success, there’s a possibility of the second part as well which might come out in 2019.
