The Arrow season 4 was one of the most emotionally charged and heart-breaking in the history of the show. There have been many deaths on the show – Tommy Merlyn (friend of Oliver & Laurel’s lover), Moira Queen (Oliver’s mother), Robert Queen (Oliver’s Father), Thea Queen (who was killed by Ra’s Al Gul and then brought back through Lazarus pit), Sara Lance (who was killed by Thea under the influence, later was brought back by the pit and her soul was restored by John Constantine). But Laurel Lance a.k.a Black Canary died a painful death and consumed everyone with grief. Captain Lance (father of Laurel Lance) begged Nysa Al Ghul to resurrect her using the Lazarus pit, but she destroyed the well after getting rid of Malcolm Merlyn.
We know that Flashpoint is going to happen on the Flash, in fact, Grant Gustin tweeted the title of the first episode of season 3 – Flashpoint. Since the day it has been announced, fans have been thinking about the impact of Flashpoint on shows like Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow etc. It’s official now that Flashpoint will influence Diggle in a big way. David Ramsay (who plays Diggle) said in a panel at San Jose “Lazarus pit is not destroyed.” It is possible if Nysa Al Ghul found a way to reverse the effects of the damage due to Flashpoint or there are other Lazarus pits in the world.
There is a strong speculation that due to Flashpoint, Black Canary or Tommy Merlyn will be brought back. In fact, Katie Cassidy is the latest actor after Wentworth Miller and John Barrowman to join the CW/DC bandwagon who will appear across the spectrum of shows. We also had her Earth-2 doppelganger Black Siren appeared on the Flash, shortly after Laurel Lance died on Earth-1.
Arrow season 5 will premiere on Oct 5, Wednesdays on the CW network at 8:00 p.m.
