Priyanka Chopra Jonas is hitting the big screen once again! The Bollywood beauty is set to star in the upcoming action thriller Heads of State, alongside wrestling legend John Cena and Idris Elba. The film, produced by Amazon Studios, is being directed by Nobody’s Ilya Naishuller and will feature a script written by Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, and Harrison Query. The plot details of the film are under wraps but we do know that it is a combination of two classic films, Air Force One, and Midnight Run.
The film is set to be executive produced by Cena and Elba, as well as Peter Safran, John Rickard, and Marcus Viscidi. But that’s not all! Priyanka Chopra Jonas is also set to star in the Prime Video series Citadel, alongside Richard Madden. The series is set to premiere later this month and is all about a global spy agency, Citadel, that was destroyed by operatives of Manticore, a powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows. Chopra Jonas stars as Nadia Sinh, a former elite agent of Citadel, who goes on a mission with her former partner Mason Kane, played by Madden, to stop Manticore from establishing a new world order.
The show also stars Lesley Manville as Dahlia Archer, Osy Ikhile as Carter Spence, Ashleigh Cummings as Abby Conroy, Roland Møller as Anders Silje and Davik Silje, and Caoilinn Springall as Hendrix Conroy. With the show’s premiere just around the corner, fans are excited to see Priyanka in action once again.
In a recent interview with Total Film, co-director Anthony Russo shared his thoughts on Citadel:
“We’re immense fans of Bond, but our job is to try to take what we love about these sorts of genres and films that have influenced us and figure out ways to push them into spaces and places that surprise us…Our job as storytellers isn’t to bring you another version of Bond. Our job as storytellers is to bring you a fresh experience that you are excited and surprised by. So hopefully we hit that mark. We’ll see.”
Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been making waves in both Bollywood and Hollywood, and the upcoming movie and television series are just her most recent endeavors.
