Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson have been co-stars for quite some time now, and they’re gearing up for their latest project together, an Apple TV+ comedy called Brother From Another Mother. In a recent interview with Variety, McConaughey dropped a bombshell revelation that might just prove that he and Harrelson are biological brothers! McConaughey shared that while in Greece a few years ago, they were talking about their families, and his mom let slip that she “knew” Harrelson’s dad.
The ellipses in her statement suggested that there might have been more to the story, and after some sleuthing, they found out that Harrelson’s dad was on furlough at the same time that McConaughey’s parents were going through their second divorce. There’s even evidence that they might have crossed paths in West Texas! Harrelson is all for taking a DNA test to confirm their brotherhood, but McConaughey is a little hesitant. After all, he’s believed his dad to be his dad for 53 years. Still, it’s an intriguing possibility, and we can’t wait to see how this plays out!
Fans of the hit HBO series True Detective will be happy to hear that a fourth season is in the works, with Jodie Comer set to star as the lead. The new season, titled True Detective: Night Country, will have a heavily female cast, a refreshing change of pace for the show. John Hawkes, Christopher Eccleston, and Fiona Shaw will also be joining the cast. HBO executive Casey Bloys said they’re working with writers to find the right tone and take for the new season, and that quality is their top priority. The new season will be set in Ennis, Alaska, where six men from the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. Detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro will have to confront their own darkness and dig deep to solve the case.
Issa Lopez will pen the script for True Detective: Night Country, which she will also direct and produce. Jodie Foster will star in it and serve as an executive producer. Barry Jenkins, Adele Romanski, Mark Ceryak, Anonymous Content, and Alan Page Arriaga will serve as executive producers in addition to writing and producing the film. Executive producing will also include McConaughey, Harrelson, Cary Joji Fukunaga, and Nic Pizzolatto. True Detective’s third season, which premieres in 2019, marks the show’s first new season in quite some time.
This new season is eagerly anticipated by the audience, and with such a talented cast and crew, we’re confident it won’t let them down. For their upcoming collaboration in Brother From Another Mother, McConaughey, and Harrelson have our excitement. We know it’ll be a hilarious and endearing comedy because of their history of stellar performances together, and we won’t want to miss it.
