First Look At Adam Warlock’s Superpower In Guardians of the Galaxy 3
Good news for Marvel fans, as newly-released footage from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 revealed the first look at Adam Warlock’s superpower. In the previous Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s post-credits scene, Ayesha, ruler of the Sovereign, unveils a cocoon-like housing for a creation she called “Adam”. It’s been four years since we last saw any mention of Adam Warlock, but Ayesha’s intent was always to get revenge on the Guardians for their crimes against her people.
Will Poulter will play Adam Warlock in the third Guardians film, but thus far, he’s been absent for much of the threequel’s marketing. A new TV spot for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 showed a snippet of footage showing Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock firing an energy blast from his hand. The promotional art from the film also depicts Warlock using this ability. According to the biographical page for the comic book version of Adam Warlock from the official Marvel website, “Warlock could project blasts of cosmic energy from his hands as concussive forces.”
Considering that, for much of his publication history, Adam Warlock has been portrayed as a superhero, it’s unlikely that his villain status in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is going to stick. James Gunn, the director of Guardians of the Galaxy, teased that Adam “could become a really important character” in the MCU going forward. This confirms that Will Poulter’s character makes it out of Vol. 3 alive. Some might argue that Adam’s introduction into the franchise is coming too late, given that he plays a significant part in the Infinity Gauntlet storyline in the books.
Marvel Studios has already told the tale of Thanos and the Gauntlet during Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Warlock might, however, play a significant role in either of the forthcoming Avengers movies. He’d make a great ally for the heroes as they battle Kang the Conqueror because in most of his incarnations, he’s a bit of a powerhouse. The movie series centers on the Guardians, a team of outcast superheroes who work together to rescue the galaxy. The squad is back in this third installment with a brand-new task to accomplish.
Fans now get a peek of what to expect after this new clip, despite the movie’s marketing being shrouded in secret up until this point. In addition to veteran actors Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel, the forthcoming movie also stars newcomers to the franchise like Poulter and Pom Klementieff. The plot is still a mystery, but there have been rumors that it will focus on the hunt for Gamora. Since James Gunn has said that this will be his final outing as the franchise’s director, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is one of the most eagerly awaited movies of the year.
