5 Upcoming Marvel Movies And Shows Where Spider-Man Will Appear

Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have big plans for upcoming movies and shows where Spider-Man will appear. Despite the various versions of the web-slinger now in the spotlight across both studios, fans haven’t seen the hero since the Multiverse-shattering events of Spider-Man: No Way Home in late 2021. But the wait for Spidey’s return won’t be too long, as he is set to swing back into action in future projects.

The exact details of where and when the hero will appear next remain unknown, but the anticipation for his return is high among fans. Recently, the announcement that Disney+ will be streaming multiple old Spidey movies in the USA only added to the excitement, as fans eagerly await the next phase of the beloved character’s cinematic journey. Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are known for their ability to surprise and delight audiences, so there’s no doubt that Spider-Man’s future will be full of thrilling twists and turns.

Spider-Man: Freshman Year (Disney+ series)

Spider-Man is set to star in his own animated show produced by Marvel Studios called Spider-Man: Freshman Year. The series will follow a young Peter Parker as he navigates the challenges of high school while learning to control his newly acquired superpowers. Along the way, he will face off against classic Spidey villains such as the Green Goblin, Chameleon, and Scorpion. Despite the hype surrounding the show, it has faced some obstacles during production.

Reports have surfaced that the series is experiencing significant delays due to issues within Marvel Studios’ animation department. The show was originally set to debut on Disney+ in 2022, but now its release date has been pushed back to 2024. In addition to the delay, concerns have been raised about the show’s quality after it was revealed that the Season 1 team was let go before moving into Season 2. Despite these setbacks, fans are eagerly anticipating the arrival of Spider-Man: Freshman Year and hoping that the show lives up to their expectations.

Spider-Man 4

Sony and Marvel have confirmed that they are developing Spider-Man 4, Tom Holland’s fourth solo movie. Following the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which saw the hero team up with past Spider-Men against old villains, there are already theories and hopes for what the next Spidey film will entail. While no release date has been announced yet, Spider-Man’s journey in the MCU is far from over as the franchise continues to expand.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Spider-Man fans have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the sequel to the 2018 animated hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and this summer’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse promises to deliver. The film will see the return of Miles Morales, voiced by Shameik Moore, as he dives headfirst into the Multiverse alongside Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy. The movie’s trailers have already teased an expansion of other worlds and a slew of Spidey Variants, including the highly anticipated debut of Oscar Isaac’s Spider-Man 2099. As the heroes prepare for a battle against Jason Schwartzman’s Spot, the film also promises potential drama with Miles’ family.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse

Sony’s Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the third installment of the animated Spider-Man franchise, is set to feature the return of Miles and Gwen, picking up from where the upcoming summer release, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, leaves off. Not much is known about the plot of Beyond the Spider-Verse other than the return of the villain, The Spot, and its original title, Across the Spider-Verse Part 2, suggesting that it will continue to explore the multiverse established in the previous films. Fans can catch Beyond the Spider-Verse on March 29, 2024, when it arrives in theaters. This for sure, makes us excited about these Marvel movies and shows where Spider-Man will appear.

What If…? Season 2

In the fifth episode of Marvel’s What If…? series, Spider-Man played a crucial role in helping to fight off a zombie invasion while wearing Doctor Strange’s Cloak of Levitation. Hudson Thames, the voice actor for Peter Parker, spoke to The Direct about how special the experience was, and it’s expected that the popular hero will return for Season 2. Bryan Andrews, the director and executive producer, also expressed his love for the character and hopes to see him back in the series in the future. While Spider-Man wasn’t among the confirmed characters returning for Season 2, his presence could be useful for any number of alternate-universe storylines. The release date for Season 2 has been delayed from early 2023.

Bonus – Avengers: The Kang Dynasty

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is set to be one of Marvel’s biggest events yet, with the film still in the early stages of development two years ahead of its release. The film is rumored to feature only a few characters from the franchise, but the expectation is that Spider-Man will be a part of the team that faces off against Kang the Conqueror. This comes after Holland’s hero had already played a significant role in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. One rumor suggests that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will even lead the Avengers in this next movie, taking on a larger role than ever before.

As he works to find his place in a world that doesn’t know him, it would be surprising to see Avengers 5 leave the web-slinger out of the action. Plot details for the film are still being developed, but fans are excited to see how the young hero will continue to develop as a leader within the Avengers team. Avengers 5 is set to premiere on May 2, 2025, and is expected to be one of Marvel’s most ambitious films yet. Fans of the Spider-Man franchise can now enjoy all three of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man movies on Disney+ along with Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man worldwide. These upcoming Marvel movies and shows where Spider-Man can appear are worth the wait!

This is great news for fans who want to re-watch their favorite web-slinger movies. The streaming service has also announced that Venom and Spider-Man: Homecoming will join the lineup on Friday, May 12. With all these movies being available on the same platform, fans can easily indulge in their favorite web-slinger stories without having to switch between different services.
