Marvel fans eagerly await the return of the animated series What If…? on Disney+, which promises to bring more than two dozen newly confirmed MCU heroes and villains in its second season. Although there is still very little imagery or promotional material teasing the new season, recently surfaced photos of officially-licensed Marvel merchandise provide a first look at Hela’s new design. The Funko Vinyl soda can featuring Hela shows her sporting a new, Asian-inspired look, which seems to line up with reports indicating she will star in an episode with both Odin and the Mandarin. Her Ten Rings-esque outfit could also indicate that she may even team up with the latter.
While it’s difficult to determine what kind of plotline Marvel has planned for Hela in What If…? Season 2 based on this image alone, anticipation is building to see what she’ll do in her first adventure alongside her father Odin and the Mandarin, Hela was only briefly mentioned in Season 1 of What If…?, with her helmet being seen as part of the Collector’s exhibit on Knowhere in Episode 2. But now, Cate Blanchett will have the chance to fully bring the character back into play for the first time, sporting a thrilling new look.
The upcoming season of What If…? is confirmed to be even crazier than its predecessor, promising to take viewers on a wild ride through alternate universes. Marvel fans are excited to see what’s in store for Hela and the other characters, as the show continues to expand the multiverse in ways that haven’t been explored before.
