Vin Diesel Hints At More Characters Returning In Fast X

According to star Vin Diesel, there are many more characters returning in Fast X, the upcoming Fast & Furious installment. The film sees Diesel’s character, Dom, and his crew takes on a new villain played by Jason Momoa. With the biggest cast of any Fast & Furious movie to date, both new and returning characters will share the screen. Diesel recently teased that Tego Leo (Tego Calderón) and Rico Santos (Don Omar) could be among the characters making a comeback.

Characters Returning In Fast X

Leo and Santos were first introduced in 2009’s Fast & Furious and later appeared in the short film Los Bandoleros, as well as in supporting roles in Fast Five and The Fate of the Furious. Younger versions of the characters also appeared in F9: The Fast Saga. While the impressive cast alone is a strong draw for audiences, the sheer number of characters could present a challenge for the film. With such a large ensemble, it’s uncertain whether Fast X will be able to serve all the characters in a satisfying way. The core crew, led by Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, will remain the focus, but with so many other characters to set up and explore, their arcs may not be as fleshed out.

On the other hand, if the new characters don’t receive enough screen time or development, it could be disappointing. Fast X is expected to serve as the penultimate installment in the franchise, and its connection to Fast & Furious 11 may make more sense when the film is viewed as part of a finale. However, for the time being, it remains to be seen how Leo and Santos will fit into the already expansive cast. With this upcoming movie set to be the most emotional film in the franchise, some comic relief from the duo could be a welcome addition. In addition to Diesel and Rodriguez, returning actors include Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jason Statham, John Cena, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron.

Newcomers to the series include Momoa, Brie Larson, Rita Moreno, Michael Rooker, Alan Ritchson, and Daniela Melchior. Despite the potential challenges presented by the large cast, Fast X has been highly anticipated by fans of the franchise. With the series having evolved from street racing to high-octane action and heist films, each installment has upped the ante with more impressive stunts and effects. It is expected to be no different, with director Justin Lin at the helm once again. Lin has directed several entries in the franchise, including The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, and Fast Five. In addition to the action, the Fast & Furious movies have always emphasized the importance of family.

Diesel’s Dom is at the center of this theme, with his crew serving as an extension of his family. Fast X is expected to be no exception, with the trailer showcasing a number of emotional moments that hint at the stakes being higher than ever. With the film not set to release until 2023, it’s likely that more details about the cast and plot will emerge in the coming months. However, for now, fans of the Fast & Furious series can look forward to another high-energy entry in the franchise, featuring both familiar faces and exciting newcomers.
