In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the Guardians, led by Star-Lord, will confront Chudwudi Iwuji’s High Evolutionary and Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock. The final installment of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy will see the team catching up with the Gamora variant from Avengers: Endgame and battling against the villainous High Evolutionary, whose experimentation on animals and humans will be linked to Rocket Raccoon’s MCU origin story. Additionally, the group will have to face the powerful Adam Warlock, whose debut was teased in a post-credits scene from the previous Guardians of the Galaxy movie. The film is set to release on May 5, 2023, as part of Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

 

The Marvels

The Marvels, set for release on July 28, 2023, marks Brie Larson’s return to the MCU as Carol Danvers teams up with Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan, following their Phase 4 Disney+ appearances. The movie, directed by Nia DaCosta, will also feature Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury and Zawe Ashton as one villain. Although the plot is currently shrouded in secrecy, fans are eagerly anticipating this Phase 5 installment.

 

Captain America: New World Order

Captain America: New World Order is set to feature Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson, now the new Captain America, battling against a surprising foe – the Leader. Directed by Julius Onah, the movie will see Samuel Sterns complete his transformation into the Leader after his first appearance in The Incredible Hulk. Harrison Ford will play General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, and the mutant Sabra will make her MCU debut in the film. Captain America 4 is scheduled for release on May 3, 2024, making it one of the MCU movies releasing after Ant-Man 3.

 

Thunderbolts

In Thunderbolts, a new superhero team is formed from existing MCU characters, including Red Guardian, Yelena Belova, Ghost, Taskmaster, U.S. Agent, and Bucky Barnes. Julia Louis-Dreyfus will appear as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who leads the team. While the plot and antagonist have yet to be confirmed, the Black Knight’s Ebony Blade is expected to make an appearance. The film, set to release on September 6, 2024, will end Phase 5 of the MCU.

MCU Movies Releasing After Ant-Man 3

Announcements regarding this R-Rates MCU movie have already hyped up the fans. This upcoming MCU movie will mark the return of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman). Watching the duo will be for sure a treat for us. At the time of writing, no official details or story plot of the movie have been revealed yet. It will be released on the 6th of November 2024 and will be the first movie of phase 6.

Fantastic Four

Since we saw Reed Richards in Doctor Strange 2, fans have been left wondering about the cast of the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. On February 15, 2025, this movie will arrive. There are reports that casting for this movie has begun and soon we will get more details regarding it. The possibility of John Krasinski returning as Richards is very low and there are also rumors that Penn Badgley might have been roped in for the role.

 

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty

No lineup of superheroes is yet announced for this movie, but the identity of the villain is pretty clear. Yes, we will be watching Kang again in its antagonist mode. It is scheduled for May 2, 2025. Till the time, we approach its release date projects like Loki Season 2, Ant-Man 3, and others will give us slight hints on what to expect in this flick. The new MCU slate seems to be packed and will also introduce us to some new characters joining the franchise.

Avengers: Secret Wars

The MCU’s Phase 6 will conclude with Avengers: Secret Wars, which follows The Kang Dynasty. The comic storyline, which Secret Wars shares its name with, sees a cosmic entity named Beyonder bring a diverse gathering of Marvel Comics superheroes to a pocket dimension called Battleworld to fight some of their biggest villains. Michael Waldron has written and will be released on the 1st of May 2026.

 

Armor Wars

Marvel’s Armor Wars, based on an Iron Man comic book storyline, was initially planned as a six-episode Disney+ series. The show features Don Cheadle’s War Machine, who will be trying to protect Tony Stark’s tech from getting into the wrong hands, instead of Iron Man who was the central character in the original comic book story. The show doesn’t have a confirmed place in the Multiverse Saga yet, and neither is a release date available. While the director of Armor Wars is yet to be announced.

Shang-Chi 2

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings‘ director Destin Daniel Cretton have been confirmed to return to direct and write the sequel to the movie. Simu Liu is expected to return as the Master of Kung Fu in Shang-Chi 2. The plot is still under wraps, but the first movie hinted at a mysterious multiverse threat and his sister’s potential takeover of the Ten Rings organization.

 

Spider-Man 4

Tom Holland will be returning as Peter Parker in a new, untitled Spider-Man movie that is currently in the early planning stages. The details of the movie, including the cast, director, release date, and plot, have not been revealed yet, but Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed that the story is currently being written. With the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home showing Peter’s friends forgetting his secret identity, the new movie could potentially introduce a new supporting cast of characters from the Spider-Man comics.
