Avengers: Endgame Deleted Scene Revealed By Elizabeth Olsen

Elizabeth Olsen, who played Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), has revealed an Avengers: Endgame deleted scene that involved her character and Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange. Olsen’s character made a significant impact in the film by taking down Thanos almost single-handedly. However, there were plans to further highlight her character alongside one of her Phase 4 MCU enemies.

In a video where Elizabeth Olsen broke down on-set photos, she explained the cut scene from Avengers: Endgame that involved her and Doctor Strange. She revealed that they were doing additional photography for the 2019 film, and it was actually her and Benedict Cumberbatch’s “first time working together.” Olsen also mentioned that they had just added a piece where Doctor Strange threw a fireball, and then she threw one too. She didn’t know if the scene made it to the final cut, but it was their first time working together in the MCU.

Despite not making the final cut, Elizabeth Olsen and Benedict Cumberbatch later reunited as enemies in Doctor Strange 2, which was released in 2022. In one of the on-set photos, Olsen is seen expressing her traumatic moment from Avengers: Infinity War, where Thanos pretended to kill Vision. Although the Russo Brothers posted the photo, Olsen doesn’t know what she’s “doing there” but theorized that she could’ve been “an off-camera eye line” for Bettany. She also noted that it’s “very funny working on these sets, even in the sad moments.”

Knowing now what the MCU held for Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange, it would’ve been great for the scene to remain considering what was to come in both WandaVision and Doctor Strange 2. A shot of the two working together probably would’ve been referenced in the 2022 film and added another layer to their fractured relationship. The behind-the-scenes look into Avengers: Endgame provides fans with a glimpse of the massive, star-powered production that Marvel films entail. Olsen’s commentary adds an extra layer of insight into the filming process and highlights the collaborative nature of filmmaking.

Avengers: Endgame and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are both available to stream on Disney+. Fans can now revisit these films and appreciate the hard work and dedication that went into making them. Overall, Elizabeth Olsen’s revelation of the deleted scene is a fascinating insight into the MCU and provides fans with an extra layer of context when watching these films.
