The MCU has proven to be a goldmine for finding new talent in the industry. Everyone joining this franchise gets a significant boost in the industry. Many roles open up for even the supporting cast. And after starring in Guardians of the Galaxy, something like that also started to happen for Karen Gillan. She has appeared in 5 MCU movies so far. But outside this franchise, she has been the lead in Sony’s Jumanji movies and even led the solo action movie Gunpower Milkshake to its glory. The Guardians of the Galaxy actor Karen Gillan is set to take on yet another lead role in an upcoming Lisa Steen-directed comedy film.
Deadline reports that this upcoming movie called Late Bloomers is being written by Anna Greenfield, and Gillan will be joined by Margaret Sophie Stein, Jermaine Fowler, Kevin Nealon, and Talia Balsam. This film joins the list of Gillan’s highly anticipated projects, such as the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and the eventual sequel to Jumanji: The Next Level. She will also be starring in an upcoming series called Rhona Who Lives by the River, where she will lend her voice to the titular character of Rhona.
Besides the two Guardians of the Galaxy projects, MCU’s upcoming roster includes Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, The Marvels, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Fantastic Four, Deadpool 3, Captain America 4, Nova, Shang-Chi 2, Blade and The Thunderbolts.
