Hollywood is not full of popular Chrises. We’ve got Chris Pine who found success in Star Trek and DC. Then there’s the old-timer Chris Rock, who still rocks and shocks us every now and then. And finally, there are 3 other Chrises who are extremely popular because of the MCU. But people love one of those from the Jurassic World franchise as well. Differentiating between them has become easy for everyone because of the iconic roles they’ve played. One’s Captain Kirk or Steve Trevor and the other three are Captain America, Thor, and Star-Lord. But here’s a weird fact about Mr. Lord. Apparently, Chris Pratt does not like being called Chris.
Since there’s a whole legion of popular Chrises in Hollywood, Pratt just has people refer to him by other names or short forms. In a chat with SiriusXM’s Pop Culture Spotlight With Jessica Shaw (via EW), Pratt revealed that no one really calls him Chris.
He said that he’d rather be called something else:
“Pratt. CP. You know, CP. ‘Hey, CP.’ But no one calls me Chris. My friend, Chad. I went golfing with my friend, Chad, my pastor the other day and he was like, ‘No one calls you Chris? I’m gonna call you Chris. Alright, Chris. You’re up.’ And I was like, ‘No, it feels weird. It’s not my name. Don’t call me Chris.'”
Well, most people I’ve come across call him Pratt because it’s easier to differentiate, right? Pratt, Hemsworth, Evans, and Pine. It’s easier to call them by their last names instead of Chris. Still, it’s quite funny to find out that CP actually finds it weird when people call him by his actual name. It’s like he is so used to not hearing the first name that he doesn’t even want to be referred by it.
