10 Actors Who Could Play Captain Britain In MCU

The MCU has been adding several characters in Phase 4. So far, we’ve got Yelena Belova, Photon, US Agent, Sylvie, Kang, Kate Bishop, and the Eternals. There have been a couple of major setups for Black Knight and Blade as well. But in the upcoming projects, we’ll be getting even more new ones. There’s She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, Namor, and the list could go on and on. But there is another incoming character that a lot of people aren’t talking about. Avengers: Endgame left a pretty sneaky setup for Captain Britain. And with the Multiverse being established in the MCU, I’m certain that we’ll soon be getting at least one Captain Britain, if not more. So, we’re going to look at some actors who could play Captain Britain in the MCU. His arrival may have been hinted at by Blade and Black Knight uniting at the end of Eternals. Their union could ultimately form the MI-13 team from the comics. And this team also includes Captain Britain. So, there’s no doubt about the fact that Brian Braddock is coming to the MCU. So without any further ado, here are a few names who could play the role:

Henry Cavill

Do we really need to look past this choice? I mean Cavill is the best choice for this part, and what’s great is that he is ready for it. Here’s what he recently told The Hollywood Reporter when they asked him about playing a Marvel character:

“I’m never going to say a Marvel character that is already being played by someone else because everyone’s doing such an amazing job.

However, I have the internet and I have seen the various rumors about Captain Britain and that would be loads of fun to do a cool, modernized version of that — like the way they modernized Captain America. There’s something fun about that, and I do love being British.”

Actors who can play Captain Britain

Well, Henry Cavill and Captain Britain could be a match made in heaven. Warner Bros. is wasting his potential as Superman. They’re not interested in bringing him back. He probably won’t be the next James Bond since he is already playing Argylle. And everyone loves him as The Witcher. So, the timing is just perfect for Marvel to grab this big name and make people hyped about a character that not a lot of fans know about. I’m really hoping for Cavill to be Brian Braddock.

Charlie Hunnam

Sons of Anarchy is what made Charlie Hunnam famous. But after that, his career took a few dents as he didn’t return for the Pacific Rim sequel, and then King Arthur also bombed. His work in The Gentleman was pretty good. And I believe that he is just one big role away from major success. While most people think that big role could be Green Arrow, I think that he’d be a solid contender for Captain Britain. This is a gig that he should be gunning for.

Chris Pratt!!!

Okay, I’m kidding, I’m kidding! Umm wait, maybe I’m not. I did mean to put Pratt’s name in this list as a joke since he has literally been voicing every character these days. But listen to the video right here. This guy can do a British accent too! So I think it would be hilarious if Pratt plays Captain Britain. Now you might be confused about how or why would Marvel choose Pratt for the part if he is already playing Star-Lord. But, here’s the thing. There’s a whole Captain Britain corps. in Marvel comics. So maybe, Pratt could make a cameo as one of the multiverse versions of Captain Britain just for a short while. It would be pretty funny.

Taron Egerton

While many have fan-casted him as Wolverine, I’d say that he could do an amazing job as Captain Britain. He has been exquisite in the two Kingsman movies that have come out. And, everyone loved him as Elton John in Rocketman. But now, it could be his time in the spotlight… his shot at ultimate stardom if he gets to join the MCU as well!

Orlando Bloom

I would absolutely adore this Lord of the Rings and The Pirates of the Caribbean star in the MCU. 3 years ago, he expressed his interest in playing Captain Britain. BBC Radio 2 asked him about the Marvel character he’d like to play, and he said:

“I do read Marvel Comics a little bit. So who’s the British one? …. Captain Britain! …. There you go.”

So yea, I believe that Bloom would be a cool choice for the part. He is currently 44 years old and he could handle the role at least for the next 8 years or so, if not more!

Tom Hopper

He was recently featured in Netflix’s SAS: Rise of the Black Swan and he has been doing well for himself. It’s not like those Game of Thrones days for him anymore. This big guy has come a long way from getting burnt in Game of Thrones. He plays Number 1 in The Umbrella Academy. And he also appeared in the recent Sony movie, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. But if he’d somehow get an MCU role like Captain Britain, then his stardom will be on a whole new level.

John Boyega

After getting a big start in The Force Awakens, he didn’t get to do much as Finn in Disney’s last two Star Wars movies. His role in Pacific Rim also isn’t moving forward. So maybe, the MCU could offer him a change of fortunes. What if this British-Nigerian actor gets to be Brian Braddock in the MCU? I feel that even an actor of color could do justice to the role.

Christian Bale

Yes, I know that the former Batman has already joined the MCU as Gorr the Godbutcher in Thor: Love and Thunder. But you have to keep in mind that he is playing an alien. The MCU has a long history of casting the same actors for multiple characters if it is understandable. Benedict Cumberbatch plays Doctor Strange, but he also voiced Dormammu, which can be understood since we didn’t see his face as Dormammu. Gemma Chan played the Kree character, Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel and she recently appeared as the Eternal, Sersi. Heck, Laura Jane Haddock had a cameo in Captain America: The First Avenger, and then she was cast as the mother of Peter Quill. So, Christian Bale can also play Captain Britain for sure. He has already been fan cast for the role several times. In the past, Bale did say that he was done with the Superhero genre after The Dark Knight Rises. And yet, Taika Waititi convinced him to return as Gorr the Godbutcher. Maybe if Marvel wants an older version of Captain Britain, then they could convince him again? I admit that this choice is too good to be true. But I guess we’ll see.

Oliver Jackson-Cohen

This is a brit with a great heavy accent. We saw him in The Haunting of Bly Manor and The Invisible Man. But playing Brian Braddock could be his big break in Hollywood. He’s big n handsome, and totally has what it takes to be Captain Britain. Marvel does like to cast new names for some of their roles. They’ve cast Alaqua Cox as Echo, and she has also got her own Disney+ show. The same goes for Ms. Marvel star, Iman Vellani. Chris Hemsworth was a no-name when he was cast as Thor. Marvel has this knack for picking up actors and launching them to stardom. So, they could do that with Oliver Jackson-Cohen too.

Sam Heughan

Many fans want Heughan to play James Bond. But I guess there’s too much competition over there. Instead, Heughan should actually try for Captain Britain.

What do you guys think? Which of these actors could play a great Captain Britain? Let us know in the comments.
