The Multiverse of Madness was a wild ride. It is true what the critics said about it. Raimi made a movie for the fans and added some horrifying elements in it just to mess with us. We never would have thought that Wanda could be so scary. I mean, where was this Scarlet Witch in Endgame when Thanos was beating down on Iron Man. Jokes aside, Marvel has a power-scaling problem. But one problem that they do not have is world-building. They seem to be expanding their universe by adding more universes to it. We saw a number of new timelines in Loki and now Multiverse of Madness brought us some of the most interesting universes in the MCU. In fact, we made a list of our favorites. Take a look:-
Earth-838
Let’s get the most obvious one out of the way first. Earth-8383 is very similar to the MCU, but it has The Illuminati in place of The Avengers. Earth-838’s technology is also far superior to that of the MCU. It is a place of fantasy and peace. Earth-838 has The Inhumans, X-Men, The Fantastic Four, The Marvels, and The Avengers. Truly the dream universe of any Marvel fan.
The Place Where Living Tribunal Resides
When Chavez and Strange start skipping through universes to escape Wanda they pass through a realm that has a very interesting creature in it. In a “blink and you will miss it” moment you catch a glimpse of a floating head with three faces. This is none other than The Living Tribunal aka the most powerful character in all of Marvel. Someone we expect would soon become an active player in the MCU.
The Animated Universe
As Chavez and Strange break through universes one after the other we get to a point where they briefly transform into two-dimensional versions of themselves. This looks like the universe where Spider-Man; The Animated series takes place. Honestly, it could be that or any of Fox’s other series, but Strange clearly takes on the same appearance he had in the Tv series, so we have some hope for that version of Spider-Man to show up.
Papercut Universe
One of the most interesting universes that were also a part of the trailer was a place where Chavez and Strange almost disintegrated. We are unsure what was happening here but it seems like this universe has a different constitution than all of the others. Strange and Chavez turn into cubic forms of themselves that are reminiscent of a disintegrating paper more than anything else, hence the name.
The Paint Universe
This is the only universe that is actually acknowledged in the movie after the characters have passed through it. It seems that this universe is both made up of paint and constituted by it. Even sentient beings are paint here, which is a bit weird. Also, it is very hard to find food here, as America tells us. We do hope that no one ever gets stuck there.
Bone Universe
It seems that Multiverse of Madness could not help but tease Mephisto. One of the universes that Strange and Chavez wade through seems to be made up of human bones. This is a callback to the hell dimension and everyone knows that Marvel’s hell is ruled by none other than Mephisto himself.
The Incursion
Another interesting universe that we visit in Multiverse of Madness is the one where the Incursions have already happened. Here we find a version of Strange that the community has dubbed Sinister Strange. This version of Steven has been Dreamwalking into other universes and killing Stranges. His Dreamwalks have caused an Incursion that has destroyed his own universe, yet he seems to have no intention of stopping.
The Nebulous Realm
The Nebulous Realm is the space between universes. It is the place where the Book of Vishanti is found in the movie. In fact, Mulitverse of Madness starts off in this universe as Defender Strange and America Chavez battle a mummy monster. Not much is known about this universe other than its floating infrastructure and some powerful magic. It almost seems like a vault for sorcerers to access in time of need.
