10 Most Horrible Moments In Doctor Strange 2

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is out and is currently reigning as the #1 movie in the world. The movie sees Wanda crossing the multiversal boundaries and the natural laws to reunite with her children. While Strange tries his best to stop her from doing so. This movie is the first one to feature not just Wanda, but the Scarlet Witch who will stop at nothing to meet her children again. The result was a violent movie, filled with gore, which fans don’t tend to expect from the MCU. But this was the Sam Raimi stamp! Director of the Evil Dead franchise, this is what the fans expected from him. And he delivered! Sam Raimi gave us a movie that was so gruesome that viewers objected to its PG-13 rating. And here we are with the 10 most horrible moments in Doctor Strange 2:

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

10. THE INTERNAL EXPLOSION IN BLACK BOLT’S HEAD

The King of the Inhumans, Black Bolt, was one of the fan-favorite additions to the Earth-838’s Illuminati. But this group vanished faster than it appeared. And the first one to go was Black Bolt, who let out high-frequency waves every time he spoke through his mouth. But what if he had no mouth?! That’s exactly what Wanda played on(after Mr. Fantastic gave him the clue! Pretty stupid for the most intelligent man on Earth) when she made her mouth disappear. And when he tried to speak, the waves reflected back towards the brain. Unfortunately, it made his brain into a slime. Nasty, huh? We are just getting started!

9. THE MIND INVASION OF PROFESSOR X

It wasn’t as gruesome as it was shocking to see Wanda going through Professor X as Drax goes through Sakaarans. I mean, the moment he entered Wanda’s mind, we knew he was doomed, right? And when that red smoke started coming in, we were all holding in for dear life. And then that sudden snapping of poor Professor’s neck. It would’ve been hard to top that in an MCU film, but Raimi somehow did that!

8. THE IMPALING OF SINISTER STRANGE

Everyone had been waiting for the one variant of Strange was the Sinister ‘Things Just Got Out Of Hand’ Strange. And when he finally came, it was one of the most chilling scenes. But Raimi confused us the entire time. First, he gave us a CGI-loaded musical battle which we loved, BTW, and then, kablam! MCU’s Strange casts a spell and sends the Sinister Strange flying through the window and directly on a pointy fence! Gave us Deadpool vibes, except he was not going to survive that! To be honest, that gave me a barbeque craving!

7. THE EYE-PIERCING OF GARGANTOS

And then comes the scene that set the tone for the entire movie. The second monster we see in the movie was the one-eyed octopus monster, Gargantos. Sent after America Chavez by Wanda, this monster proved to be a huge problem for the current and former Sorcerer Supremes. But at last, Strange killed him by poking him with a lamp post(fresh from the streets of NYC). But he took things further when he accidentally poked the eye right out of the body, releasing some pretty high amounts of monster-ily fluids. Raimi does like to take things to the next level, doesn’t he?

6. THE BURIAL OF CAPTAIN MARIA RAMBEAU

While Wanda went through the Illuminati much more easily than the viewers would have thought, this member of the group proved to be a match for her. Fans had been waiting for a Maria Rambeau-Captain Marvel variant ever since they heard about the rumor. She had to be one of the strongest ones and she was. After Wanda had killed almost every member of the group, she was the last one standing and was also giving Wanda quite a fight. But Wanda got sick of her and just dropped a giant robot on top of her. The movie may not have shown us her body under all the Ribble but her limp hand was enough to know that it was not quite that beautiful.

5. THE ROAST OF SHEILA ATIM’S SARA AT KAMR-TAJ

One of my personal favorite gory moments in the movie was the shot sequence where a Kamar-Taj sorcerer attempted to destroy the Darkhold. It is a dark book that holds the power of the dark dimension. And when the book was destroyed, her feeble human body couldn’t handle the energy is released and she immediately burned to a crisp. So a guy gets impaled on a skewer-like fence and someone developed a nice crisp crust. Raimi was really in a Sunday Barbeque mood, wasn’t he?!

4. THE SHREDDING OF MR REEDS ‘FANTASTIC’ RICHARDS

Of all the intense violent moments, this one is the most underrated. Makes sense, this scene is quick and attention was taken by another character. But the way the Scarlet Witch totally destroyed Reed Richards was so badass that the whole crowd felt his pain. And what made this scene even darker was what she said to him before making him pass through a paper shredder. Damn Wanda, do you even have a heart?!

3. THE DISFIGURED SCARLET WITCH

It was one of the perfectly captured moments in the entire movie when the Scarlet Witch emerged out of a gong in the Kamar-Taj. Strange had trapped her in an illusion room filled with mirrors and the way she escaped it was totally badass. After that, we were sure that nothing, absolutely nothing can stop Wanda now. The way she got with a dislocated body and then goes back in shape with the sounds of cracks crackling in our ears. Ooooohhh!

2. THE RISE OF ZOMBIE STRANGE FROM THE DEAD

Most horrible moments in Doctor Strange 2

The cold, dead hand reaches out of the grave! Cliche, right?! Normally, I would have hated the scene for doing this but I absolutely loved how Raimi built up to this scene. Heck, I loved everything about this scene. The zombie make-up, the malfunctioning limbs, limped walk, rotten jaw, and then the hands of the spirits of the damned. This scene would have alone made this movie! However, some people hated this scene, not because of its graphics but because of Strange’s hypocrisy that it reveals.

1. THE FALL OF CAPTAIN CARTER

If you have watched the movie, which you would have if you are this ahead in this list, you know that no scene can top this in terms of gruesomeness. The Illuminati deaths scenes will go down as one of the darkest scenes in the history of MCU and this death will top that list. The way Wanda catches Captain Carter’s shield with her magic and then launches it towards her was just magical! And then the second before we got to know that the shield just went through her body was one of the most chilling ever. No one could have expected a death scene like this in a Disney movie but they made it happen.

This scene worked out pretty well for a lot of reasons. And the main reason was Hayley Atwell’s expressions. That cold, shocked, dead look! And it was not only hers because we were pretty much in the same condition. And then the shield hit the wall behind her and made that huge crack. Just how fast did Wanda throw that thing. Damn, why’d they have to do this to my favorite Captain?!
