The time has come to return to the upside-down. Netflix has just dropped the trailer for the fourth season of Stranger Things and things don’t look good for our gang in Hawkins. The fan-favorite science fiction horror series is ready to return on May 27th. The fourth season was delayed multiple times due to the pandemic but this has only resulted in increased anticipation and frenzy in fans. An interesting detail about this season is that it will be longer than the previous seasons and will be split into two volumes. The final teaser is proof that the season is going to be grim and that the end is near. Also, let us see what we know after watching Stranger Things 4 trailer.
The trailer opens six months after the end of season 3, which showed the gruesome death of Billy Hargrove in the battle of Starcourt mall. We see Max mourning the loss of her brother as she sits near his grave and reads him a letter. We then see the kids going to school and can’t help but wonder how old they are supposed to be now. Since there has been a considerable gap between the third and fourth season’s release, the actors have obviously grown up quite a bit. And of course, we get to see some quirky 80s hairstyles again which will make you nostalgic!
Is Hopper Fighting Demagorgans in Russia?
One of the biggest blows of the last season was that it made you believe that Hopper was dead. However, it was revealed shortly after that he survived and was probably taken to Russia. Chances are, that in the first volume of season 4, we might not get to see Hopper reunite with Joyce and the gang as he is on a mission in Russia. In the trailer, we see Hopper in prison with a shaved head.
Later, we hear Hopper say – “I was convinced I was put here for some other reason. Maybe I can still help, even if it’s the last thing I do.” And we see him lighting a weapon to fight a Demogorgon. Does it mean that Hopper has been sent to Russia on a mission to fight these devilish creatures? If yes, we hope he survives and comes back to Hawkins soon after that.
Who Has Powers This Time?
One thing that Stranger Things has established already is that Eleven is not the only character who has powers. She got her powers from the experiments that were done on her and her mother by scientists. However, there are more people out there who have similar superpowers. In the season 4 trailer, we hear Eleven say that she does not possess her powers anymore. Does this mean she lost them after the battle of star court? If yes, she might have to fight without them or go through something to gain them back. Moreover, in a short scene, we see Max levitating in front of Billy’s grave. Does this mean that Max could have powered this season? We sure hope so! And since there will be a lot of new characters coming in, we might get to see some cool powers as well. After all, a war is coming and we need all the help we can get!
Is there a New Villain in Season 4?
As the trailer begins, you hear a sinister voice and the ticking of a clock in the background. The ominous voice says – “You’ve broken everything. Your suffering is almost at an end.” It sounds like a creature from the upside-down and something tells us that there might be a new villain this time. We also see a flash of pale blue eyes that belong to the monster. Towards the end of the trailer, we even get to see this new creature take form as it announces “it’s time”. The creature looks very different from the Demogorgons we have seen till now and could even be their leader. A fan theory floating around the internet suggests that this monster could be a character that we thought was dead. So, could this actually be Billy Hargrove? If yes, what is he trying to do? We can’t wait to find out!
