Is Thor 4 Chris Hemsworth’s Last MCU Movie? Here’s What We Know

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen some tremendous growth over the past couple of years. This is both due to the number of characters introduced and because of the induction of a number of new franchises. The entire world of the cinematic universe has seen considerable addition and an uptick in content produced and released. Marvel has increased OTT shows to control the general narrative while they use the movies to mark significant events. They have finally perfected the formula. That is why we think there is a possibility that Love And Thunder is Chris Hemsworth’s last MCU movie. Keep on reading to find out if we are right or not.

After the release of the new trailer for the film, one thing became abundantly clear, Jane Foster will be replacing Chris Hemsworth as the main Thor of the MCU. Portman can be seen wearing the costume of The Mighty Thor and a new helmet replica of her character reveals even more similarities to her comic counterpart. Waititi has previously commented that he wants to be as faithful as possible to the source material. In that regard, it is possible that one Thor gives his/her life at the end of the movie much like how Jane Foster stops the Mangog in the comics. Will Love and Thunder be that instance in the MCU? It seems that Youtuber John Campea has an answer for us.

Is This Chris Hemsworth’s Last MCU Movie?

Thor May Fight The Serpent in Thor: Love And Thunder

YouTuber John Campea recently claimed on his show that one of his sources says Chris Hemsworth’s Thor will appear in the MCU again after Love and Thunder. This means that this is not Chris Hemsworth’s last MCU movie but the trailer sure makes it seem like so. The start of the trailer shows us how Thor grew up to become the man he is and his time with the Guardians is his time of self-reflection. After these actions, Thor will once again try to return to a life of peace but then find himself (along with Jane and Korg) in Olympus trying to battle Gorr The God Killer.

Campea also mentions how he was made privy to a scene of Gorr that made him realize what a good villain he is. It is possible that Gorr might be receiving the same treatment as that Thanos. We think that the fight will start in Love And Thunder with Gorr hell-bent on slaying Thor, but the conflict will span more than one film. It is possible that Love And Thunder only exist to chronicle the rise of The Mighty Thor and the God Killer. Their final confrontation might happen sometime in the future in some other project.

Chris Hemsworth’s last MCU movie

This will ensure two things. Firstly, the fight will carry a lot of emotional weight and the fans will be able to appreciate the conclusion much more with a well-substantiated story. Second, this action will establish Gorr as a legitimate threat. For example, Love And Thunder will feature a high-intensity CGI-heavy final battle where it might seem that Gorr has lost. But then he will stand back up again and abduct one of the Thors in their de-powered state.

The Future

This would be a magnificent cliffhanger to end the movie on. At the very least, it will ensure that the fans remember this villain profoundly when they rewatch the MCU. Gorr’s all-black necrosword and his malicious plans are the real threat to the Gods. If he is defeated by Thor and The Mighty Thor then he might decide to resort to the God of Bombs and the Godbomb. Stoping the Godbomb might be a good plot for Thor 5.

It still remains to be seen what kind of a villain will be played by Christian Bale. Gorr might be completely different from his comic counterpart. He might be fueled by madness and not rage. If that is the case then we might be receiving a cosmic take on the whole Joker formula.
