Black Adam First Trailer Description Reveals Him As A God

The DC extended has seen amazing growth over the last couple of years. This is mainly because of their new movie lineup that will start premiering in 2022. WB is trying to build a multiverse to compete with the MCU and if The Batman’s success is any benchmark then they seem to be on the right path. With the recent merger of Discovery and WB, things are being shaken up in the DCEU. We fully expect a bombastic 2021 lineup. I am so confident because Discovery showcased a lot of new footage in Cinemacon 2022 including the Black Adam first trailer. Take a look at the description down below.

We do not have any actual footage for the film since the trailer has not been released to the general public for now. It was only for the fans who attended the con for now. We feel that the trailer will be shared with everyone shortly but let us first assess the information we have. You see, Black Adam is not supposed to be your average DC movie. It is not a movie with The Hero’s Journey at its core. Black Adam is supposed to be darker. In this sense, it has more in common with the SSU than the MCU. The information that we have found on the internet seems to point to the fact that DC has been successful in achieving this tone. Let me explain what I mean.

Black Adam First Trailer

This description comes to us courtesy of The Ankler’s Jeff Sneider, Fandango’s Erik Davis, and Gizmondo’s Germain Lussier. We thank these people for their reporting and hope that you will enjoy what they have unearthed. It is said that the trailer starts with a voice-over by The Rock. He is seen in chains, it seems like he is a slave in this scene. Regardless, the voice-over states, “I was a slave until I died. Then I was reborn as a god. I kneel before no one.” Then the action shifts into high gear.

We get some scenes of The Rock doing amazing things. He is seen taking down a helicopter, catching rockets, and firing lightning all of which is pretty standard Black Adam stuff. He is much more violent than your average hero. This is a fact that he is reminded of in the trailer by other characters. It is said that he “can be this world’s destroyer, or its savior” and that “There are heroes and there are villains, and heroes don’t kill people,”. Unfazed by this commentary, Black Adam simply says, “Well, I do.”

This is poetic justice to the character. Black Adam has never shied away from doing what is necessary, what is needed. He said so in the last teaser we received. The animated teaser for Black Adam that was released a while back had this tone of rebellion that seems to have been carried forward in this trailer. We can’t wait to see what the moviemakers have done with the character and how they have used Dwayne Jhonson.

The Future

Black Adam first trailer

Black Adam is happy to destroy entire civilizations to ensure that his people don’t suffer. We cannot blame him for his archaic sense of justice. Mostly because he is both insanely powerful and insanely old. However, we do know that Shazam was the one who defeated Balck Adam in the olden days. He imprisoned the mage and hoped that he would never return to Kahndaq. Sadly, this prison will be broken and Black Adam will be released upon the world.

We think that this movie is going to be just as dark as The Batman and it will be a movie that we will remember over the years. What fights do you want to see in the movie? Do you think the Justice Society of America will be able to halt the progress of Black Adam in the DCEU?

Let us know down in the comments and keep watching this space for everything Marvel, DC, and Hollywood. Excelsior!!!
