Wonder Woman Gets Aquaman’s Powers In The Craziest Way!!!

Wonder Woman is one of the most essential characters in the superhero world and over the years she has seen some rather interesting developments. Even the first introduction of the character in the DCEU made for a major cinematic event. The mythology of the character actually managed to bring her closer to another major DC character Aquaman. There are even rumors that we will get to see the two characters appear together in the upcoming third entry to the Wonder Woman solo ventures. In the latest issue, Wonder Woman gets Aquaman’s powers and becomes even stronger!!

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman is one of the best DC characters and has had a long history in the DC Universe. There have been times when she had to fight her enemies alone without the help of other major DC characters and she still managed to pull that off without a single problem. The character is one of the most important when it comes to the Justice League and this was quite evident in the movies too. If it wasn’t for her then we won’t have had the chance to see the league of superheroes on Earth coming together. But there have been some dark moments in her arc too.

Diana is of royal descent and this is quite similar to Aquaman. Both of them share some interesting parallels when it comes to their history and the origin of their characters. Both of them have powers that were given to them on the basis of their heritage and mythological associations. This paved the way for various times where the characters have been paired together too. In fact, the Flashpoint arc actually saw the duo getting married and it had a drastic ending. Now it seems that Wonder Woman’s new update might allow her to have one up over Aquaman.

Wonder Woman Gets Aquaman’s Powers!!!

In the latest issues of the Wonder Woman: Evolution series, the character ends up having a rather interesting new power. The series shows Diana being taken away to an otherworldly realm where she ends up facing various challenges from both her past and her present. According to the synopsis of this series:

Whisked away from Earth by a distant cosmic entity, Wonder Woman is forced to navigate a series of perilous challenges that push her to the brink both mentally and physically. At stake is the fate of all humanity, with the alien entities casting Diana as Earth’s proxy for a trial judging humankind’s worthiness to exist in the universe. Can Diana stand trial to save humanity without losing her own?

While the series sees her fighting with Steve Trevor as the latter ends up shooting her with his gun, she also faces her own people going against her. One of the narratives shows her facing her mother who has captured her and has sentenced her to death. Even though it might sound something ordinary for her character but this time she is sent for death via “Poseidon’s last abomination“. This leads to her facing the enemy underwater and thus spending a larger amount of time underwater beneath the waves. But during this time of peril, she makes a rather surprising discovery.

Wonder Woman gets Aquaman’s powers

Diana is surprised that after going underwater for a while she didn’t lose her breath and she exclaims, “I…can breathe underwater…“. This does go to prove how essential Aquaman’s powers are when it comes to having massive battles underwater. But if this comic series goes to show Aquaman facing Wonder Woman then we can be sure it would make for an interesting battle. While Aquaman might have his powers of the ocean, Wonder Woman will be having powers from both land and sea. It would be interesting if this arc is also built into the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel which is rumored to be featuring Aquaman too.
