Doctor Strange 2 Explains How Iron Man Solved Time Travel So Soon
One of the most essential moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has to be the time travel heist in Avengers: Endgame. It won’t have been possible if Tony Stark didn’t manage to figure it out. This is the reason that we got to see the surviving heroes bring back all the heroes that survived the events of Avengers: Infinity War. It does leave us wondering how Stark managed to figure out something like time travel in a single seating. Even though the character has always worked on his technology to make sure that he could deal with every threat. It seems that the latest trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness might have offered an explanation on how Iron Man solved time travel so soon in Avengers: Endgame.
Time Travel In Endgame
After the events of Avengers: Infinity War the surviving heroes tried to find every possible means to undo the changes. They even confronted Thanos himself and this is where they discovered that he had destroyed the Infinity Stones. This canceled any possible way that they could have made sure that the Stones could be brought back and the changes could be undone. But things took an interesting turn with Scott Lang reappearing from the Quantum Realm. Scott was stuck there for the period of the Blip and managed to get out somehow.
Scott actually suggested that Hank Pym’s Quantum tech could be used to travel back in time and save everyone. The only person who was capable enough to deal with this technology was Stark and he had denied taking a chance again. Over the years, there have been various theories on what motivated Stark to figure it out. Stark saw a photo of him and Peter and it probably motivated him to make one final attempt for the sake of Peter. Also, Stark saw that the certificate Peter held in the photo was upside down. He went and ask his AI to create an inverted Möbius strip and after a few other renders, he managed to crack time travel. Marvel didn’t actually dive into the details of how this worked out but there is a chance that we might get an interesting insight into this.
Doctor Strange 2 and How Iron Man Solved Time Travel
We were left with a lot of questions about how time travel worked in Avengers: Endgame. At the same time, there are questions regarding the rules of this time travel that are still being answered by the MCU. In the latest trailer for Multiverse of Madness, Wanda gives an answer to Strange about what she knows regarding the multiverse. She responds that Vision had said that it was a dangerous place. This conversation between Wanda and Vision could have taken place before the events of Avengers: Infinity War. It is interesting to think why Vision would know about this concept.
If Vision did start working on the Multiverse he could have discussed it with the other Avengers. Considering Stark in a way created Vision and they had worked together, he might have asked Stark about it. This could mean that they might have talked about the idea of multiple realities. They could have also wondered about traveling through them before the entire Time Heist thing even came into consideration. Thus, Tony would have been working on the concept of time travel long before Endgame. This doesn’t actually sound farfetched considering Stark is known for staying updated with the latest in terms of development.
This also explains why Stark appeared to be aware of the risks when Cap, Natasha, and Scott came to him for help. Iron Man and Vision have had an interesting relationship that was not explored in the movie as the former could be a father figure for the latter. Stark considered J.A.R.V.I.S. as an ally even before he opened up to others like Pepper Potts and Rhodey. It is sad to think that the two of them never had a chance to see each other before Stark’s death. At the same time, this could actually make for another interesting thing we didn’t know about Stark before he died.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released in theaters worldwide on May 6.
